Kawasaki Azalea Renewal

Kawasaki Azalea Renewal

<Project Overview> This project marks the first comprehensive renovation of Kawasaki Azalea, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary. The concept of the renovation is "a life-sharing mall where people can share enriching moments in their lives." We assisted in the complete renovation of three zones: DELICHIKA, a large-scale food retail zone equivalent to one-third of Kawasaki Azalea's total area; LIFE GRAND, a lifestyle zone that brings together "somewhat nice" things and experiences; and GOURMESSE, which caters to a wide range of usage scenarios, from "eating alone" to lunch with children, dinner after work, and business dinners with clients. Our company was in charge of environmental design (including basic and implementation), environmental construction (Souzai Chisou, CRYSTAL ROND, etc.), and interior design supervision. <Client's Challenges> ① To restore the ability to attract customers by leveraging the prime location in front of the station, aiming to become a mecca for restaurants, food retailers, and fashion goods, despite various conditions such as the building structure and facilities of the underground public passageway from 30 years ago. ② To maximize the store facade to create a sense of vibrancy and concentration within the store, and to create an environment that enhances purchasing desire. ③ New ways to use the environment from the 1F entrance to the central underground atrium sunlight plaza. <Solutions> ① Create environmental design themes that match the new business type zoning for each area. By setting a core theme zone environment for each area, we succeeded in connecting the passages and increasing the ability to attract customers and improve circulation. ② We reduced construction time and costs by constructing a new facade that covers the existing finishes without removing them. We basically used the existing ceiling and floor, and renovated the shop front and key areas with new designs to the smallest extent possible, creating a sense of renewal with a wide range of contrasts. ③ We created an indoor garden space where people can freely stop by and rest by setting up unique ancillary environments such as lighting fixtures, greenery, FF&E, etc. <Our Project Members> [Development] [Project Management] Hirano, Maekawa, Chida, Ichihashi [Design] Shimoshita, Miura, Endo, Kawakami (NODE) [Signage & Graphic Design] Hoshi, Shinkawa (Nomura Products) [Production & Construction] Takeuchi, Takahashi, Yoshinaga, Akizawa (Nomura Products) [Interior Supervision] Kojima

narafamily

■Project Description Narafamily, a large commercial facility that has been a beloved fixture in Yamato-Saidaiji, Nara Prefecture for many years, underwent a transformation into a high-quality urban commercial facility. In the spring of 2016, a complete renovation of the interior was initiated with an investment of approximately 5 billion yen, and the facility successfully reopened in the autumn of the same year. Through a collaboration between general producer Junji Tanikawa of JTQ Inc. and chief creative director Ryu Kosaka of AND, environmental design concept is "Yamato Modern," which explores the essence of Nara. concept design expresses the strength of Nara, reminiscent of ancient temples and Buddhist statues, with a sense of volume, and the facility is further enhanced by a dazzling arrangement that interprets the beauty of "Tenpyo culture" in a modern way. The logo and facility signage have also been revamped with the "Yamato Modern" concept design scheme, and the camel statue "Pokora," the facility's beloved mascot for many years, has been replaced by a second-generation "Pokora" created by sculptor Ryuichi Ohira and installed in the Camel Plaza. bar/es

bar/es

The red building of Shiseido Parlour, a landmark in Ginza, was conceived as a lighthouse illuminating the streets of Ginza during its construction. With the desire to "create a bar that will become a symbol of Ginza" on the top floor of that building, the aim was to create "an adult bar that can be enjoyed by the many adults who gather in Ginza." Upon exiting the elevator, the reception area is a stark contrast to the dazzling lights that adorn the city, and guests are greeted by the flickering light of candles. The bar area is square, and to make the large space with a maximum ceiling height of over 8 meters even more symbolic, a counter is placed in the center, and above it floats symbolic concept design that represents the "lighthouse light (Symbol)," and, in keeping with the building's concept of the ground floor = "earth" and the top floor 11th floor = "sky," it evokes the "Sun (night sun)," "sparkling light" (Spark), (Shine), and "soul" floating in the "sky." The symbol's red glow is reflected in the metal wall art and antique mirrors, creating a sophisticated atmosphere, while the shadows cast by the artwork on the walls give the space an organic feel. To make the large space feel comfortable, the floor level is varied around the counter. The high counter side is a casual area designed with standing scenes in mind. The low counter side features a purple carpet, the theme color, and comfortable chairs, allowing you to enjoy a relaxed bar experience. There are also private seats behind the bottle shelves, so you can enjoy the bar in a variety of settings. The lounge area at the back is a cozy space with more unique art and furniture, and the flickering of flames, creating an adult space where you can feel the "Social" and "Sexy" aspects of the concept. The "S" in "Bar S" represents the various "S"s of Ginza, creating an adult space.

We provided comprehensive support for the realization of the project. The space is designed to be enjoyable for visitors of all ages, and expresses the liveliness and sparkle of life of visitors in a space that incorporates sunlight, symbolizing the enjoyment of a pleasant stroll through the city. displays As the name "cocoon" (cocoon = "cocoon") suggests, this was originally the site of Katakura Omiya Silk Mill, which was the representative of Katakura Industries, Ltd.
