1892 (Meiji 25)

Founded

Taisho era (1912–1926)

Founder Taisuke NOMURA used large-scale equipment and mechanisms to give chrysanthemum doll performances, which were popular as a form of entertainment for the general public at the time.

Handled exposition displays and department store events.

1942 (Showa 17)

Opened the Osaka branch office (completed construction of the company office building in Namba Shinchi)
and began business operations.

Received an order for the 1st All-Japan Motor Show (now known as the Tokyo Motor Show).

Relocated the head office to Shibaura, Minato-ku, Tokyo.

1970 (Showa 45)

Received an order for the themed pavilions, government pavilions,
and other major pavilions at the Japan World Exposition (Expo ’70).

Opened the Sapporo Sales Office (now Hokkaido Office).

Opened the Fukuoka Sales Office (now Kyushu Office).

Opened the Northern Japan Division (now Tohoku Office).

Acquired shares of GIKEN KOUGEI Co., Ltd. (formerly NOMURA PRODUCTS Co., Ltd.) and made it a subsidiary.
Established the Shinkiba

1985 (Showa 60)

Opened the Hiroshima Sales Office (now Chugoku Shikoku Office).
Received an order for the themed pavilion, American pavilion, and other major pavilions at the International Exposition, Tsukuba Japan (Expo ’85).
