The Nara Prison Museum by Hoshino Resorts opened in Nara City, Nara Prefecture, as part of a project to preserve and utilize the important cultural property, the former Nara Prison. The concept is "Questions from a beautiful prison." Hoshino Resorts, together with world-renowned creators, explores the history of Japanese penal practices and the society of prisons through the unique space of a prison, offering a new experience that prompts visitors to consider fundamental themes such as "What is freedom?" and challenge their own worldview. The museum consists of a "preservation area" that retains the original state of the Third Dormitory and the guardhouse, and an "exhibition area." The exhibition area is comprised of Building A, which introduces the history of Nara Prison along with the Japanese administrative system in eight exhibition rooms; Building B, which introduces life in the unique society of prison through seven themes: "discipline," "food," "hygiene," "work," "rehabilitation," "money," and "freedom"; Building C, which exhibits works by five artists and prison art by inmates under universal themes such as "crime and punishment" and "time and life"; and Building D, which has a cafe and shop. Our company was responsible for the spatial design and planning of the museum, working in collaboration with various creators and writers to create a space that integrated exhibition information with the spatial experience. We also handled the design and production of exhibition content, including the development of explanatory plans, various reproduction models and sculptures, and the production of videos that convey aspects of prison work.

For this project, in response to the request to create a new store that reflects the characteristics of the location and the live entertainment aspect of monjayaki, our team, which has worked on many theme parks and entertainment facilities, took on the challenge. Focusing on the "value as a food culture" and the "extraordinary experience that stimulates the five senses" of cooking in front of customers using a griddle, "Moheji" opened as a new type of store specializing in an entertaining dining experience. It is a store that offers a completely new dining experience, expressing the famous dishes of 19 countries around the world in 50 kinds of monjayaki.

The new Yamagata Bank headquarters building, planned as a hub for regional revitalization in the central business district of Yamagata City, opened in July 2026. With the architectural concept of "embracing vibrancy," the first and second floors house public areas such as plazas and halls, while the fourth to seventh floors are dedicated to the bank's operations and other business areas. Our company was responsible for the interior design, FFE (Floor Energy and Equipment), and signage planning for the first to sixth floors. Through creating an open space that fosters connections with the community and developing an environment that balances the dignity and functionality expected of a financial institution, we contributed to the creation of a new hub for regional exchange and communication.

This project involved renovating a hotel that opened in 1995 on the upper floors of the Tomarin passenger terminal building in Naha City, Okinawa Prefecture, and rebranding it as a separate hotel. The existing building had a sense of grandeur and uniqueness, with glass arched ceilings and walls and floors covered with boldly patterned stone. In this project, instead of completely demolishing the existing hotel's interior and rebuilding it from scratch, the goal was to maximize the appeal of the existing space by applying minimal design changes. The extent of demolition was kept to a minimum, and by "adding" elements such as an open kitchen, bar counter, ceiling fans, rugs, furniture, and art based on the spatial concept of a "ship," new life was breathed into the existing hotel, creating an attractive space.

To enhance the competitiveness of JR Gate Tower, which is directly connected to Nagoya Station, a new office lounge has been installed on the lobby floor. While the lounge in the adjacent JR Central Towers, which was developed earlier, is a highly comfortable space where people can spend their time in peace, this facility aims to be a convenient lounge where people can easily drop in, communicate with each other, and take a break. Based on the concept of "Sky Oasis Lounge," a comfortable place has been created that welcomes and embraces office workers in an open space provided by high ceilings and large windows.

We were responsible for the planning, design, and construction of the "50s Stardom Room," a concept room limited to two rooms per day at "1955 Tokyo Bay by Hoshino Resorts." Based on the concept of American stars of the 1950s, we designed a space where guests can spend a playful and special night, as if they have traveled back in time to the glittering world of that era the moment they open the door. The room features a makeup area with a "Hollywood mirror" (a mirror surrounded by round lights) modeled after a star's dressing room, an area with wall hangers modeled after a jukebox and costumes to get them in the mood, and a mini-stage area with a mirror ball that dances with light at the back. Furthermore, a record player and records are also provided, allowing guests to spend a luxurious time listening to rock and blues. This project was not merely a recreation, but a space in which guests could immerse themselves as the "star," and we were committed to this from both the design and construction sides.

Based on the concept of "OLDIES GOODIES," the hotel "1955 Tokyo Bay by Hoshino Resorts" (grand opening in June 2024, with our company handling planning, design, and construction), which is themed after 1950s America, has added a kids' play space and semi-private rooms where families can relax. Hoshino Resorts requested a kids' play space where children could play to their heart's content, as they have many guests with children, so we made effective use of the wide corridor space to create this kids' play area.

Our company planned, directed, designed, and constructed the two daytime and nighttime performances of the "Dolphin & Sea Lion Ocean Live" program at Aqua World Ibaraki Oarai Aquarium. For the daytime performance, "WOOOOARAI! - A Story of Encounters Begins Here -", we introduced a new transparent display. The show has been revamped to highlight the dynamism and individuality of the creatures through video effects synchronized with the ocean unfolding before the audience and multi-view footage from live cameras installed throughout the venue. For the nighttime performance, "FLOW A LIFE - The Pulsating Sea of Life -", we have created an immersive video experience that spreads across the entire wall. The integrated video, lighting, and sound effects invite the audience into the ocean, allowing them to experience the world of Oarai's sea where life meets, interacts, and resonates.

This is a renovation project for two private rooms, "Matsubuchi" and "Teizan," at Hayase, a Japanese restaurant and teppanyaki bar located on the second floor of Hotel Metropolitan Sendai, which is directly connected to Sendai Station. The private room area, named "Bettei" (annex), is positioned as a separate building from the main building to provide the highest level of hospitality to VIPs, and the essence of a tea room (the spirit of wabi-sabi) for welcoming guests has been incorporated into the design. Just as Matsushima Kanrantei, a representative tea room of Miyagi Prefecture and said to have been given to Date Masamune by Toyotomi Hideyoshi, entertained guests amidst the magnificent nature of Matsushima, these private rooms have been redesigned to resemble Kanrantei, creating a memorable and high-quality space where guests can enjoy their meal while feeling the changing seasons through projection mapping and a courtyard garden.

Uvale!, a cafe, restaurant, and shop attached to Omine Sake Brewery in Mine City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, is surrounded by abundant nature. The existing office and cafe space was reconstructed, and a layered structure utilizing beams and columns was planned to gently connect the shop, dining area, and sake brewery. By carefully adjusting the placement of columns and ceiling heights, a sense of openness is maintained while naturally dividing each area, creating diverse experiences for visitors. Furthermore, by expanding the openings, a comfortable environment with plenty of natural light has been achieved. In addition, the reddish-brown color reminiscent of the Sekishu tiles found in the region was incorporated into the steel frame and materials, and together with the three-dimensionally arranged plants, a space was created that resonates with the rural landscape of Mine that spreads out outside the windows. The aim was to create a place where nature, architecture, and the activities of sake brewing are gently connected.
