TOKYO SKYTREE® 4th floor (ticket counter, SKYTREE® ARCHIVES, Sumidagawa digital picture scroll)

TOKYO SKYTREE® 4th floor (ticket counter, SKYTREE® ARCHIVES, Sumidagawa digital picture scroll)

As Tokyo Skytree celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2021, the 4th floor entrance floor has been renovated to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by creating an easy-to-understand entrance path for customers and reducing the number of face-to-face ticket sales counters. The existing ticket counter was relocated and a new exhibition area, "SKYTREE® ARCHIVES," was opened on July 1, 2021, which introduces the history of the surrounding area, including the Oshiage district where Tokyo Skytree is located, and the role of the displays tower in a chronological format through videos and photos. The "Sumida River Digital Picture Scroll," which was displays on the 1st floor group floor, has been relocated to this area. We were responsible for design, layout, and construction of the new ticket counter, "SKYTREE® ARCHIVES," and "Sumida River Digital Picture Scroll." We have also been supporting the creation of the space at Tokyo Skytree Town® (Tokyo Skytree, Tokyo Solamachi®) since its opening in 2012. [Social Issues / Customer Issues / Requests] ・The ticket counter is the first place visited by many people, both domestic and international. Therefore, we received requests for it to be easy for anyone to understand, to have affinity with environmental design, and to improve hospitality and service. ・For "SKYTREE® ARCHIVES," we received requests for concept design and displays method that would interest customers and be easy to understand, with large-scale images, a historical timeline, and actual displays in a limited space. [Solution] ・To clearly communicate the existence of the ticket counter, we placed it facing the 4th floor entrance and gave it a calm, traditional concept design that fits the environment. We also installed an easy-to-see sign at the top and lit the decorative material using cut glass on the back of the counter with indirect lighting, so that it can be intuitively understood even from a distance. ・For "SKYTREE® ARCHIVES," the relevant parties conducted on-site mockups to check the color and size of the graphics, the placement of displays, the lighting plan, etc., to verify the ideal form. It has become a place of learning for visitors to learn about Tokyo Skytree and the surrounding area, and to enjoy the view from Tokyo Skytree, which is built on that history. In addition, by arranging all the pictures in the "Sumida River Digital Picture Scroll" in a continuous manner, the continuity of the scroll is emphasized, and it has been reborn as a more powerful piece of content. The above synergistic effects have made the view from the observation deck even more appealing by smoothly guiding visitors from "SKYTREE® ARCHIVES" near the main entrance to the ticket counter and then to the departure gate (elevator platform to the observation deck) and creating a sense of exhilaration. <Our project members> [Sales/Project Management] Hashida Yukinori, Nekoda Hiroki [concept design] Hirata Wakako, Sato Tomoya [Production] Nara Shota, Oikawa Yasuhiko, Sakurai Ryota, Wada Kaoru

Kawarayu Onsen Playground NOA / Kawarayu Onsen Station Campsite

Kawarayu Onsen Playground NOA / Kawarayu Onsen Station Campsite

This project is one of the projects to help the residents of the areas that will be submerged due to the construction of the Yamba Dam to rebuild their lives and find meaning in life. For about six years, we were in charge of the basic plan, schematic design, working drawings, supervision, and consulting work to support the local management company for the "regional development facilities" in the "Kawarayu District" and "Yokobe District" of the relevant areas. The Kawarayu District is a tourist destination with Kawarayu Onsen, which has been around for over 800 years, and is adjacent to JR Kawarayu Onsen Station. From the perspective of location characteristics, scenery, and business scale, we proposed a "Station Front x Campsite & BBQ x Hot Spring Facility" business. While listening to the opinions of the local residents, Naganohara Town, and Gunma Prefecture, we comprehensively planned and produced the project, from the launch and support of the local management body, to attracting a campsite management partner company, consulting on the business plan, and facility design, layout. The facility is divided by the JR Agatsuma Line, and consists of the "Kawarayu Onsen Play Base NOA" with a cafe and hot spring on the upper level, and the "Kawarayu Onsen Station Campground" with a plaza where you can enjoy BBQ and bonfires, a wood-burning bath, a tent sauna, and canoeing and kayaking on the dam lake on the lower level. [Social Issues / Customer Issues / Requests] [Business] It was necessary to understand what it means for the local residents to rebuild their lives and create a purpose in life. Through repeated discussions with the residents, issues were identified that aim to revitalize the area, such as coexistence with the hot spring town, promotion of employment for local people, especially young people, and encouraging the outflow of the population to return to their hometowns. In addition, they requested that the facility be differentiated from facilities planned in other areas and similar facilities, and have the ability to attract customers and be unique. [concept design] They requested that concept design be unique to the area, taking into consideration the bridge that tourists passing by to visit the dam and visibility from the opposite bank, which is a busy area, and that the facility be easy to operate by harmonizing the complex multi-purpose facilities (hot springs, restaurants, rest areas, observation decks, tenants, conference rooms, etc.). [Solution] [Business aspect] The Yamba Dam project took 70 years from planning to completion, but there were arguments for and against the construction of the dam, and many residents moved out. From the perspective of launching the project, we focused on proposing a business plan with multiple perspectives and a bird's-eye view. We listened to the various business ideas desired by the local residents, made recommendations on how to make them feasible, made adjustments to avoid competition with businesses in the surrounding area, and differentiated each facility, aiming for a project that emphasized the uniqueness of each area. [concept design aspect] The concept was the "Azuma River," which is the origin of the name of the former Kawarayu area. As we proceeded with concept design, we received feedback from local residents that it looked like a "boat rising with the area on board," so we created a distinctive building that symbolizes the two concepts. For the interior space, we planned a gently curving flow line and slope that combined various functions to match the long and narrow shape from east to west, making it an easy-to-use space with mobility. <Our project members> [Sales/Project Management] Satoshi Arai, Hitomi Yamamoto [Planning/Consulting] Kenichi Sakazume, Yuki Shimokuni [design, layout] NAU: Sakae Kirioka, Nana Osano

Moominvalley Park

Moominvalley Park

Moomin Valley Park opened in Hanno City, Saitama Prefecture on March 16, 2019. Our company was responsible for the entire park, from planning to design, production planning, and construction. [Client Challenges/Themes] As the world's first permanent Moomin theme park, there was no precedent. Therefore, we had to obtain approval from the publisher, Moomin Characters, literally from scratch, regarding the type of facility and attractions that should be included. Furthermore, the wide-ranging scope of responsibilities required the formation of a large, well-coordinated team. [Solution] Thanks to the team's deep understanding of the original work and repeated careful confirmation with the publisher, we ultimately received high praise from the publisher and achieved smooth approval. Furthermore, by assigning a promotion team encompassing the entire NOMURA Co.,Ltd. Group, we were able to ensure constant communication across all areas. [Customer Feedback] The team's deep understanding of the Moomin characters and story and their love for the content they created earned the licensor's trust and facilitated the approval process. Guests have praised the facility, saying it is "a place where you can really feel the love for the characters." <Our project members> [Sales and project management] Terasaki Shingo, Kawashima Toshihito, Suzuki Mirai, Nihei Morifumi, Manabe Junichi, Kako Haruhiko [Planning and design] Kawahara Masaki, Horie Kyosuke, Sasa Asafumi, Kirioka Sakae, Yamada Kentaro, Suzuki Yoko, Sugihara Masahiro, Handa Yuki, Nagao Manami, Isoyama Eri, Nakagawa Satoshi, Oikawa Hi, Osaki Noriko, Shimada Kazumi, Toyoda Yuki, Saito Rina, Naga Ryosuke [Graphic concept design] Kaneno Minori, Kaneko Misao, Hagiya Ayaka, Toyoda Mayu, Suzuki Fujie [Production and construction] Kimura Shunsaku, Inoue Tetsuji, Seki Chuzo, Hashimoto Kunihiko Nomura Products: Hoshi Kiyohiko, Mori Naoaki, Niimi Takeshi, Kiyomi Naoyuki, Wataru Yoshida [System Engineering] Kenji Suzuki, Isao Yokota Nomura Techno: Katsuji Oguchi, Masahiro Takano [Structural Calculation Work] Takakazu Fujihira

SKY CIRCUS

SKY CIRCUS
