overview

BLUE NOTE PLACE is a new type of restaurant that blends food, music and culture together in harmony with the Ebisu area, where people with diverse values and lifestyles come together, proposing a style of casual dining where you can enjoy high-quality live music and DJ sets while dining.
The restaurant makes generous use of the open-ceiling two-story space and is equipped with a dining area, bar, lounge, private rooms, and a terrace to cater for a variety of uses. While the restaurant primarily operates as a dining and bar, a table charge allows customers to enjoy live music and DJs more casually, creating a space that seamlessly combines food and music.
We were in charge of design, layout.

Issues/requests

Through the renovation, we used elements of the original architecture to meet the wishes of ``creating a space where the streets and stores can be connected through music by opening the windows'' and ``we want to make Ebisu a city where you can hear wonderful music.'' In addition to BLUE NOTE's traditional live performance and meal experience, we needed to create a plan that envisioned a variety of settings, including lunch, an open cafe, a bar, and a lounge.

solution

Since the tenant was in the building when it first opened, we first conducted a detailed structural study, cut the beams, and created a new atrium in the center of the store. Furthermore, by arranging the stage facing the main street, we have created a three-dimensional spatial structure that allows you to view the stage from 360 degrees.
While making the most of the brick building, we are also environmentally friendly by reusing scrap scaffolding boards. In addition, by reusing parts such as unused musical instrument strings and guitar shield jacks and pegs to create custom lighting such as pendant lights, we have created custom-made lighting such as pendant lights that retain the charm of the original building while creating the atmosphere of BLUE NOTE. We aimed for a new space with a sense of style.
