KidZania Tokyo "Horse Center"

KidZania Tokyo "Horse Center"

KidZania, operated by KCJ GROUP, is a "city where children are the main characters," where they can learn about how society works while having fun. Sponsored by real companies, it's a facility where children can develop the skills to thrive in the future through realistic occupational and social experiences. The "Horse Center," which opened in a corner of "KidZania Tokyo" inside Lalaport Toyosu, operates under the principles of "getting close to horses and nurturing horse culture" and "interacting directly with horses and learning about their charm." Three activities allow children to "feel closer to horses" through jobs related to horses, which they don't usually have the opportunity to interact with. In "Veterinarian," children can experience a realistic abdominal surgery to treat a horse's twisted intestines, divided into surgeons and anesthesiologists. As an "Assistant Trainer," they can communicate with horses through grooming and experience the height of a horse by wearing horse tack and riding. Additionally, in "Horse Riding Experience," children can use a simulator to experience connecting with horses on three different riding courses at varying levels. The purpose of the KCJ GROUP and JRA is to create an opportunity for children to develop an interest in horses through their experiences at the "Horse Center," and to learn about the preciousness of life and the importance of working together as a team to accomplish things. From our position as construction and production company, we have embraced this vision and pursued a spatial quality that will give children profound insights, even under limited conditions.

KOCHIKAME Museum

KOCHIKAME Museum

KOCHIKAME Museum" is a sightseeing base facility for the Kameari area in Katsushika City, based on the manga "Kochira Katsushika-ku Kameari Koen-mae Hashutsujo" (Here I come, Kameari Koen-mae Hashutsujo). We were in charge of the concept of the facility, displays, content planning and design, and construction. In addition, we planned and designed the circulation measures around Kameari Station, construction and promotional measures for the opening of the facility. The two teams, CIC (Content Integration Center), a team of experts in IP content*, and the public works facility team, which has expertise in local government tourism base facilities and city planning, leveraged each other's strengths. The concept of the project was "The main character builds a facility on his own and then runs away to the town of Kameari! The architecture looks like a stack of comic book panels, with famous scenes popping out of interiors and a space that exudes the worldview of the work concept design, creating a sense of existence for the main characters and creating an immersive spatial experience for visitors. Visitors experience a consistent spatial story from the entrance to the exit, as if they are chasing a hero who has escaped. This also contributes to the promotion of the shopping district and local revitalization of Katsushika Ward and the Kameari area. *This term refers to all content protected by Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs). For example, games, movies, animation, manga, novels, music, characters, etc. fall under IP content.

TBS_AKASAKA BLITZ Monument/Gallery

TBS_AKASAKA BLITZ Monument/Gallery

TBS has adopted the area concept of "Shake the World. AKASAKA," aiming for the "Akasaka 2-chome and 6-chome District Redevelopment Plan" and the operation and completion of existing areas (TBS Broadcasting Center, Akasaka Sacas, TBS Akasaka BLITZ Studio, TBS Akasaka ACT Theater, Akasaka Biz Tower) by 2028. As the third phase of this plan, "Akasaka BLITZ," which has previously served as a live performance space and delivered various content, has been renovated into "BLITZ Studio," a new facility dedicated to television program production. The first floor features displays space collaborating with popular programs, and the third floor has a viewing space for the program studios. For this project, we planned, designed, and produced a monument to attract facilities that will contribute to the revival of Akasaka's vibrancy lost during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as a gallery that allows viewers to experience the history of the station from its opening to the present, in the foyer in front of the "BLITZ Studio" and the stairwell leading to the third-floor concept design. The monument embodies the long-standing connection between TBS and its viewers, while also proposing a circular economy from an SDG perspective by creatively reusing 1.4 tons of "discarded viewing and broadcasting equipment and materials." The adjoining stairwell serves as a pathway leading from a gallery tracing the evolution of TBS's viewing media over 70 years to the studio viewing area, creating a space where visitors can experience TBS's history from its founding to the present day in a seamless manner.

Sunshine 60 Observatory Tenbo Park

Sunshine 60 Observatory Tenbo Park

The Sunshine 60 Observatory, which opened in 1978, was renovated in 2016 to become an "observatory where you can play," and now, in April 2023, it has reopened as a new facility, "Sunshine 60 Observatory Tenbo Park." This facility was inspired by the "pleasant parks with lawns" in Toshima Ward, which has been promoting urban development centered around four parks, and was created with the concept of a "park in the sky," aiming to create a comfortable and open park-like facility that you will want to visit again and again. In the main area on the south side, "Tenbo no Oka," where the cityscape of central Tokyo, including the skyscrapers of Shinjuku, spreads out, a comfortable viewing space unfolds where you can feel the openness that connects you to the landscape and the unity with nature by combining mirrors and greenery. You can also relax on artificial turf that you can get as close as possible to the windows, swing-type benches, cushions and net benches with varying heights, and enjoy the view that unfolds from each viewpoint, as well as the changing scenery of the sky and clouds, in your own way. New features include a crawling space and a baby room, and the café now offers baby food, ensuring that families with young children can relax and enjoy themselves with peace of mind. At night, the observation deck transforms into a sophisticated space for adults, where the changing light, sound, and scent scenes engage all five senses to experience the passage of time. The "event space" on the north side, offering panoramic views of Mount Tsukuba and the Saitama area, is designed to host a wide range of events, such as character events and art displays, in keeping with Toshima Ward and Ikebukuro's vision of becoming an international art and culture city.
