KidZania Tokyo "Horse Center"

KidZania, operated by KCJ GROUP, is a "city where children are the main characters," where they can learn about how society works while having fun. Sponsored by real companies, it's a facility where children can develop the skills they need to thrive in the future through realistic occupational and social experiences.

The Horse Center, which opened in a corner of KidZania Tokyo inside Lalaport Toyosu, operates under the principles of "getting close to horses and nurturing horse culture" and "interacting directly with horses and learning about their charm." It offers three activities that allow visitors to "feel closer to horses" through jobs related to horses, which are not usually opportunities to interact with them.
In the "Veterinarian" role, participants can experience a full-fledged abdominal surgery to treat a horse's twisted intestines, divided into surgeons and anesthesiologists. In the "Assistant Trainer" role, participants can communicate with horses through grooming and experience the height of a horse by putting on horse tack and riding.
In addition, the "horse riding experience" allows you to use a simulator to choose from three riding courses based on your skill level and experience connecting with a horse.
The purpose of the KCJ GROUP and JRA is to create an opportunity for children to develop an interest in horses through their experiences at the "Horse Center," and to learn about the preciousness of life and the importance of working together as a team to accomplish things. From our position as construction and production company, we have embraced this vision and pursued a spatial quality that will give children profound insights, even under limited conditions.

We want to differentiate the work and experiences offered by our horse park, which was featured at KidZania Koshien in 2015.
・In order to cherish horses and cultivate equestrian culture, we want to convey the charm of horses through experiences that allow people to interact with them directly.
Given the shortage of large veterinarians in Japan, we would like to incorporate work experience as a veterinarian.
I want to incorporate experiences centered around training horses.
・Since the experience area is spacious, we would like to incorporate designs and presentations that take advantage of its size and height.

We have received the above requests.

Due to the large, high-ceilinged space, we used a model to verify the layout of the space and the placement of the horses. We also created a virtual space using VR to verify the flow and distances in the experience, and refined the image. In terms of design, we incorporated a tower-like decoration that takes advantage of the height and incorporated concept design of a stable.

In the "Veterinarian" course, we pursued an authentic surgical experience, making the lighting in the space, the horses, their intestines, and each surgical instrument they held realistic. We also incorporated elements that allow them to learn how to solve problems by working together as a team.
In the "Assistant Trainer" activity, we paid meticulous attention to details such as color, shape, and movement to make the robot used in the activity as close to a real horse as possible. We also incorporated features that allow participants to interact with horses, including riding them, communicate with them, and learn to be close to them.
In the horseback riding area, we increased the number of activities compared to "KidZania Koshien," offering experiences at different skill levels. We also incorporated monitors and speakers to create a more immersive experience.

We received a challenging request to create a horse robot with realistic movements and expressions, medical equipment, and riding footage and controls that would be enjoyable for children while also being safe and realistic. They accepted our request and handled it with great care. JRA, as well as the children and their parents who visited, were very satisfied.
