Kasai City regional revitalization base facility “sora Kasai” Uzurano Museum

Kasai City regional revitalization base facility “sora Kasai” Uzurano Museum

The remains of the approximately 1.2 km runway in Uzurano-cho, Kasai City, were from an airfield built during the war, and many other war ruins are scattered around the area, remaining to this day. Kasai City's regional revitalization center facility, "Sora Kasai," serves as an exchange hub for touring these ruins, and the "Uzurano Museum" within it was built as the center of a field museum that conveys the historical facts of the war. The basic plan for the facility was awarded to a joint venture of the three companies, Ooba Co., Ltd., and Iruka Design Group Co., Ltd., who were involved in the design, and our company was mainly in charge of the museum displays. After that, we were independently awarded the order to create displays, and it took about six years from planning to completion. Towards completion, after going through a review committee, we worked with many people, including Kasai City, local war history researchers who had been conducting research for many years, preservation societies, supervisory teachers, and a full-scale airplane model production company, to create the facility. This museum, built on the runway, introduces the short but rich history of Uzurano Airfield, with two full-scale airplane models that are deeply connected to the area as displays. We aimed to create a museum unique to Uzurano, taking advantage of the story and local characteristics of the area. The mission of this museum is to weave the memories of this area, leave them in a tangible form, and pass them on, and we hope that it will become a place where people can think about peace and connect with each other.

Panasonic Tsu factory showroom "TRUST FACTORY TSU"

Panasonic Tsu factory showroom "TRUST FACTORY TSU"

This project involved design, layout of the showroom for the Tsu Factory, which is the core of Panasonic Corporation's founding business of wiring device production. We aimed to gain further trust from customers by having visitors experience the hidden technical capabilities and cutting-edge production system behind the wiring device products in displays room and factory. displays room is composed of sections on "history," "product introduction," "Tsu Factory introduction," and "Factory technology and production capacity introduction," and is designed to link with various parts of each building on the premises. We considered everything, including the factory tour, to be elements that make up the showroom, and aimed to turn the entire factory into a showroom by creating a path from displays room to the manufacturing building. [Social issues/customer issues/requests] In order to build the theme of the facility, "trust," with customers, our role was to materialize through experience how visitors could deepen their understanding of the Tsu Factory's technical capabilities, factory production capacity, and history. [Solution] Based on the keyword "trust," we picked out the strengths of the Tsu Factory that are incorporated into the products, and created points that would give visitors notice and surprise through displays. By connecting each point, displays is structured so that visitors can gradually deepen their understanding as they proceed along the route. We created a space where the "trust" between visitors and the factory can be deepened throughout the entire experience. <Our project members> [Sales/Project Management] Hikaru Sato, Yu Takahashi [design, layout] Hiroaki Mori, Minamo Maeda, Mayumi Shigematsu [Production/ construction] Kazuya Fujii, Masaru Oishi

Sharp Yao Office "Yao Daiichi Shokudo Isshoku"

Sharp Yao Office "Yao Daiichi Shokudo Isshoku"

We were in charge of planning, design, layout and construction of the employee cafeteria "Yao Daiichi Shokudo Isshoku" that opened at the Yao Works of Sharp Corporation (hereinafter referred to as "Sharp") on November 1, 2021. In proposing the plan, we were conscious of not just creating a stylish space, but of "proposals that only Nomura can make," and proposed a cafeteria as an inner branding space where customers can discover the "SHARP-ness" across organizational boundaries and generations, as well as an outer branding space that can be experienced by business partners and affiliated companies who visit the company. We created three zones, lunch, work and salon, and devised a space that can be used not only as an employee cafeteria, but also as a place to relax, hold meetings with internal and external guests, and where people can connect and communicate. The single red line (Sharp Red) that runs through the cafeteria represents Sharp's history and future. For this project, we came up with concept design that would retain the characteristics of the Yao Works, which has a history of about 65 years as a production base for white goods, while also ensuring hygiene. In addition, the mezzanine floor, which was previously used for the production line, was used as an displays space for past products that symbolize SHARP, reducing waste and removal costs, an initiative that takes the SDGs into consideration. [Social Issues/Customer Issues/Requests] As communication between divisions was weak, the customer requested that the space be made more active in encouraging internal connections. [Solution] We proposed that the space be used not just as a place to eat, but as a place to work and relax, and also proposed displays past products as a place to encourage communication between employees and experience and discover Sharp's history. <Our project members> [Sales/Project Management] Takahashi Yui [design, layout] Umedani Shota, Yamato Suzuha, Nakamura Yusuke, Miura Ayaka [Production Management] Mukaiyama Yoshitsugu ~Related Links~ [Announcements] ・ NOMURA 's social good activities: Case study of Yao Daiichi Shokudo Isshoku at Sharp's Yao facility

Suiheisha 100th Anniversary Project Suiheisha Museum displays Renewal

Suiheisha 100th Anniversary Project Suiheisha Museum displays Renewal

This museum conveys the history of the Suiheisha, which became the linchpin of the Buraku Liberation Movement, which aims to establish peace and human rights. The latest renovation is a commemorative project for the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Zenkoku Suiheisha, which marks a major milestone since March 3, 1922. In recent years, there has been an increasing tendency to emphasize human rights, such as the enactment of the Human Rights Protection Measures Promotion Act and the Ainu New Act, and the redefinition of museums by the SDGs and the International Council of Museums (ICOM). The Suiheisha Declaration, which was read out at the Zenkoku Suiheisha Founding Conference, was the first human rights declaration in Japan and the first human rights declaration in the world issued by a discriminated minority, stating, "Let there be passion in the human world, and light in humanity." When talking about human rights, the significance of the existence of the Suiheisha Museum, which was established in the birthplace of the Suiheisha and is a hub for disseminating human rights information, is very great. In the renovation, we have once again focused on the Suiheisha Declaration, which became the fundamental spirit of the movement. We have also collected famous quotes from famous people, people close to us, works of art, and works submitted by public entries, bringing inspiration and persuasiveness through the power of words. At the same time, the exhibition is also characterized by its high updateability, allowing comments from the general public to be added at any time. In addition, displays incorporates the idea of "accepting each other's differences" with an emphasis on diversity.

Nijigen no Mori "Godzilla Interception Operation ~National Godzilla Awajishima Research Center~"

Nijigen no Mori "Godzilla Interception Operation ~National Godzilla Awajishima Research Center~"

The new attraction area "Godzilla Intercept Operation ~National Godzilla Research Center~" in Hyogo Prefectural Awajishima Park Anime Park "Nijigen no Mori" is themed on the life-sized Godzilla, the largest in the world, with a total length of about 120m, that landed on Awajishima. It is the only entertainment attraction in the world where you can truly experience its power and force. Our company was in charge of planning direction and concept design and modeling supervision. Participants become members of the National Godzilla Research Center and take on missions such as the thrilling "Zip Line" where you enter the body of the life-sized Godzilla from its mouth, and the "Shooting Game" where you annihilate Godzilla cells scattered around. *The 118.5m-long Godzilla that appeared in the movie "Shin Godzilla" (2016) is reproduced with the upper body, right hand, and tail protruding from the ground. The size of the part visible from the ground is about 52.6m in length, 25.4m in width, and 23m in height. The attraction area is about 5,000m2. [Social Issues/Customer Issues/Requests] This is Nijigen no Mori's largest project to date, where you can experience a life-sized Godzilla. As the overall producer of this project, the challenge for Toho Co., Ltd., the publisher, and Nijigen no Mori Co., Ltd., the operator, was how to provide a high level of planning experience and production quality so that it would be an attraction that the world could be proud of. [Solution] First, based on our deep knowledge of content that has been loved by the world for many years, we combined it with the unique location of Awajishima Prefectural Park to come up with a planning experience that would make people want to visit not only from Japan but from all over the world. In addition, in supervising the production, we visited factories overseas and directly advised them on the know-how and knowledge that we have cultivated, leading them to the final completion. [Customer's comments] We were asked to plan an original attraction that would attract attention from all over the world, where people would jump into a life-sized Godzilla. In addition, they provided detailed direction for the production, creating something that would satisfy everyone from families to hardcore fans. <Our project members> [Sales/Project Management] Shingo Terasaki, Shohei Baba [Planning direction, concept design /modeling supervision] Masaki Kawahara, Yasuyuki Chosa, Yuki Toyoda TM & © TOHO CO., LTD.

The Hotel Seiryu Kyoto Kiyomizu

The Hotel Seiryu Kyoto Kiyomizu

This project involved converting the old Kiyomizu Elementary School building, which has a history of about 90 years and remains in Kiyomizu, Kyoto, into a hotel. It has been reborn as a hotel that combines modern comfort while retaining its distinctive design. We were in charge of architectural design supervision, interiors design, layout, and FF&E concept design and construction. Kiyomizu Elementary School is one of the schools that has been evaluated as a unique building with unique features in its location, exterior decoration, and interiors concept design. Based on the hotel's concept of "engraving memories and connecting them to the future," we paid the utmost respect to the historical Western architecture and its interior space, and concept design to revive memories while preserving and inheriting them. In addition, we fused the architecture and interior space as new functions to express nostalgia and newness. [Client's Issues/Requests] It was necessary to design it so that it would function as a hotel while making use of the architecture of the existing historic elementary school. We also had to have repeated discussions about what kind of hotel would be acceptable to the Kyoto area. [Solution] We worked with creators on every detail, including architecture, landscape, interior, FF&E, artwork, graphics, and uniforms, to create a completely new and unique space. While the corridors and staircases where elementary school children once ran around have been preserved, when you open the doors to the classrooms where the children once studied, you will enter a completely different contemporary world. In order to maximize the value of the existing details that are valuable in the history of the architecture and interior space, we stuck to materials that do not overshadow but highlight them. The reflection of the materials reflected in the semi-gloss finish enhances the existing architectural design. We aimed to create a spatial composition with a "seeming" that can only be experienced here, by coordinating the total design of concept design, graphics, uniforms, etc., and harmonizing the interiors and FF&E concept design in a well-balanced way. <Our project members> [Sales/Project management] Toru Moenuki [design, layout / design supervision] A.N.D.: Ryu Kosaka, Shohei Urata, Hiroki Yasuda / Hiroyuki Nishikawa [FF&E concept design] A.N.D.: Kaori Sano
