Aomori Prefecture has a rich history in Japan's aviation history. Aomori Prefecture and Misawa City joined forces to establish the Aeronautical Science Museum, which opened in 2003. In 2021, NOMURA Co.,Ltd. oversaw the overall renovation work, including a completely new displays, the establishment of a new space zone, and the introduction of roller zips. The museum's management organization includes local businesses and NPOs. As the designated manager, NOMURA Co.,Ltd. is responsible for displays maintenance, the information network, the operation of the video hall, and event planning, including special exhibitions. The museum features an aviation zone displays aircraft related to Aomori Prefecture, a science zone centered around a science experiment workshop led by instructors, and a space zone, which was newly added during the renovation. In addition, the museum also displays the HondaJet Technology Demonstration Aircraft, the only one of its kind in Japan.
