Morioka Machiya Story Museum

"Morioka Machiya Monogatarikan" is a new tourist exchange facility in Morioka that has been completely renovated and refurbished from the preserved buildings of Morioka City, such as the sake brewery, the main building, and the library storehouse.

Based on our museum's concept of "encountering nostalgic vibrancy," we have designed this facility to be a place for interaction between citizens and tourists, while preserving the historical buildings and atmosphere of old Morioka townhouses, and showcasing five new aspects of Morioka's charm: "seeing," "experiencing," "interacting," "shopping," and "concept design."
