Odate City Tourist Exchange Facility "Akita Inu no Sato"

This is an displays project of "Akita Inu no Sato" newly established in Odate City, which is a sacred place for Akita dogs. We have created an displays space where you can enjoy learning about how to get along with Akita dogs and the relationship with Odate City, making the most of a valuable place that provides opportunities to interact with real Akita dogs.

[Customer issues/requests]

Since it will be located next to the tourist information center in front of JR Odate Station, we wanted it to be easy enough for tourists to enjoy, and to provide just the right amount of information. In addition, the design of the petting corner with a real dog was a top priority, so it was necessary to devise a concept design that would not cause stress to the dog.

【solution】

With tents and hammocks, we created a bright and comfortable space with the image of camping for adults. Among them, we made it an displays space where you can play with stamps and frottage that you can easily do, and learn about the history of Akita dogs born in Odate. In the petting corner, we have introduced cages that are easy to operate while considering the stress of dogs.
