overview
This is displays project for the newly established "Akita Dog Village" in Odate City, the sacred land of Akita dogs. Taking advantage of this valuable space that provides an opportunity to interact with real Akita dogs, we have created displays space where visitors can learn about how to interact with Akita dogs and their relationship with Odate City in an enjoyable way.
[Customer issues/requests]
Since it will be located in front of JR Odate Station, next to a tourist information center, it needed to be easy for tourists to enjoy and provide just the right amount of information. Also, the area where visitors can interact with real dogs had to be concept design to minimize stress on the dogs, which required careful consideration.
【solution】
We created a bright and comfortable space reminiscent of a sophisticated adult camping experience, complete with tents and hammocks. Within this displays, visitors can enjoy activities like stamping and frottage, and learn about the history of the Akita Inu, a breed born in Odate. The petting area is designed with the dogs' stress levels in mind, and features easy-to-manage cages.
