Morioka City Museum of History and Culture
overview
This facility opened in 2011, and is currently jointly operated by NOMURA Co.,Ltd. as the representative of the "designated manager" in collaboration with the Morioka City Tourism and Convention Association.
It serves two purposes: as a cultural property facility that houses invaluable treasures of the Nanbu family, and as a hub for "city center tourism" located within Morioka Castle Ruins Park, where various people such as citizens, tourists, and school groups gather to experience the history and traditional culture of the castle town.
NOMURA Co.,Ltd., as the designated manager, has been involved in the preparations for the museum's opening since the beginning. Currently, in this area affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake, we are working to provide stable services for local residents and tourists who have been looking forward to the opening, while cherishing the dignity of this facility that showcases Morioka's treasures.
