Aomori Prefecture has a valuable history in the history of aviation in Japan. The Aviation Science Museum was established in 2003 through the collaborative efforts of Aomori Prefecture and Misawa City. In 2021, displays were completely revamped, with the addition of a new space zone and the introduction of a roller zip line, NOMURA Co.,Ltd. was in charge of the overall renovation work. The operating organizations consist mainly of local companies and NPOs, and NOMURA Co.,Ltd., as the designated manager, is in charge of displays maintenance, information network, operation of the video hall, and planning of special exhibitions and other events. The museum has an aviation zone with an area displays aircraft related to Aomori Prefecture, a science zone centered on a science experiment workshop led by instructors, a space zone newly added in the renovation, and the only HondaJet technology demonstrator aircraft on displays in Japan.
