Hamamatsu Science Museum Miraira

Hamamatsu Science Museum Miraira

Renewal of the Science Museum due to the aging of the existing Science Museum facilities and displays items. We received a proposal based on the DBO* method, which integrates design, construction, and operation, and completed construction in a short period of about one and a half years from schematic design. With the main goal of providing active learning-type learning, we are planning displays based on the basic policy of experiential stories that lead to deep learning through spontaneous action by inducing interest from experience. Zoned under six themes of nature, power, sound, light, space, and new technology, the displays space is equipped with more than 100 new science experience devices, almost all of which are centered on the large centerpiece displays, which symbolizes each zone that can be attended by a large number of people. With the cooperation of Hamamatsu's leading companies, we have developed displays to stimulate interest in local industries throughout the building. In addition, we have introduced the world's first scientific information learning system (app) equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) for science museums, realizing a new way of communication concept design that expands interest and knowledge through dialogue. In addition to the displays rooms, we have also renovated the welcome displays at the entrance with art by local artist Yasuhiro Suzuki, the Kids Science Land, a café, a shop, and an outdoor science park to make it concept design a comfortable place not only for children but also for adults, while incorporating the elements of a science museum. * DBO method (Design, Build, Operate): A method of public-private partnership in which design, construction, maintenance, and operation are comprehensively ordered to private companies.

ROOKIE CAFE

ROOKIE CAFE

"An experiential cafe filled with car love" This is the first motorsport-themed cafe that opened in Toyota Motor Corporation's experiential theme park "MEGA WEB". It is not just a cafe with cars, but it has been styled here and there to subtly stimulate interest in cars. A large table modeled after the Nürburgring circuit in Germany, where Toyota Motor Corporation and other automakers from around the world compete for development, is placed in the center, and it is dotted with goods that will move the hearts of car lovers and art that can be enjoyed by children and adults alike. This circuit-model table is the symbol of the cafe, and was concept design as a communication belt that will induce natural conversations between people. In fact, it is bustling with people taking photos in various places, and many conversations can be heard. We hope that motorsports will be a catalyst for conversations and connections between family and friends, and sometimes strangers, and that it will expand. The machines that are the key to the cafe are racing cars that have actually raced, creating a realistic presentation. We also created furniture that can only be seen here, concept design only with parts from Toyota cars. It is not just furniture, but furniture with a message, and is popular among Japanese people as well as many foreign tourists. The food, which is made with carefully selected ingredients, includes a lunch plate where you can choose your main dish and side dish, as well as healthy dishes such as soy smoothies and soy pulp donuts made with soy milk and okara from a long-established tofu store, and gluten-free soy brownies, making it a place where everyone from children to adults can enjoy their meals with peace of mind. These are the original principles set by Toyota Motor Corporation, who wanted to allow people who are a little distant from motorsports, such as women and children, to enjoy the world of motorsports while naturally experiencing it. They were particular about providing a real experience that cannot be experienced at a cafe that simply displays cars, and created a space where not only core car fans but also young women and families can enjoy the world of motorsports when they come to the cafe. <Our project members> [Sales/Project Management] Takuya Fujioka, Yukari Tange [Creative Direction] Mitsuhide Yoshinaga [design, layout] Yuzo Kosaka, Hajime Kato [Production/ construction] Ryuichiro Katsura

Shiroi Koibito Park

Shiroi Koibito Park

Ishiya Seika Co., Ltd. is a Western confectionery manufacturer representing Hokkaido, famous for its Shiroi Koibito. In 1995, the company built the Ishiya Chocolate Factory, which is the headquarters and factory building, and opened the entire facility under the collective name Shiroi Koibito Park. Now, Shiroi Koibito Park, which has become a representative tourist attraction in Sapporo, is celebrating its 20th anniversary since its opening, with the number of visitors exceeding 700,000 per year. With an eye on 1 million visitors, a renewal plan was started with the theme of a facility that provides surprise and fun by utilizing the candy factory by improving customer service and adding new entertainment. NOMURA displays 's know-how, from the overall production of the park and production of video content, review of exhibition plans, spatial concept design, construction and construction (new cafe, renovation of lounge, expansion of experience corner, complete renovation of NOMURA store, review of sign plan), and produced the space. In addition, this time, we were involved in a wide range of creative production, including the facility logo concept design, character concept design and new character concept design, advertising concept design, and packaging concept design for limited-edition products accompanying the renewal. The facility has been reborn as a chocolate entertainment facility where visitors can see, learn, taste, and experience things, including the projection mapping tour "Chocotopia House" where visitors can explore the secrets of chocolate with the "professor who loved chocolate too much," the "Chocotopia Factory" where visitors can visit the "Shiroi Koibito" manufacturing line, cafes, and shops. [Customer's Issues/Requests] The basic premise was to inherit the antique concept design theme of the entire facility and to concept design and produce the facility while making use of the atmosphere of the existing facility. The first major issue was to resolve the chronic congestion caused by the number of visitors exceeding 700,000 per year. The other issue was to create new attractions, and we needed to proceed with the plan targeting not only tourists from outside Hokkaido, who had been the main tourists until now, but also tourists from within Hokkaido and overseas. [Solution] First, we clearly set a guiding production concept, and reviewed displays story and flow plan from the start of the attraction to the viewing route to the lounge and shop, with the aim of eliminating congestion on the customer's flow. We also aimed to reduce congestion by dispersing visitors' viewing points through the addition of new attractions, the establishment of a new cafe, the renovation of the lounge, the expansion of the experience facilities, and the expansion of the final destination, the shop. We also aimed to create new attractions by creating new characters and making full use of the latest production techniques, such as projection mapping and new diorama models, based on a new concept. <Our project members> [Sales and project management] Taku Wakita, Tadayuki Matsubara [Planning] Yuichi Saito, Tomoko Yanagihara, Moe Murakami [design, layout] Hiroyuki Tamura, Fujie Suzuki, Kentaro Yamada, Yuki Masuda, Akika Yamada, Shigeru Kato, Sari Suzuki, Mayu Toyoda [Production and construction] Takashi Sasatani, Ikuo Umemoto [Creative engineers] Akimitsu Takashi, Kenichi Kishikawa, Banji Kawai [Sign planning] Naoaki Mori (Nomura Products) [Promotional equipment and modeling construction cooperation] Mizuki Suzumura (Nomura Techno)

Gree head office office renewal

Gree head office office renewal

This is a project to completely renovate three floors of Roppongi Hills Mori Tower, which houses the headquarters of GREE. It took more than two years after the project was conceived, and construction was carried out in multiple phases. The concept of this project is "Disseminating Green's manufacturing". With its head office located in the Roppongi Hills Mori Tower for about nine years, the company has returned to its roots and expressed its passion for manufacturing in the office space. We created the entrance, lounge, café, Future Labo's interiors and fixtures while valuing the feeling of materials to express the image of creating high quality products in the space that many workers spend, which supports the three pillars of GREE's game business, advertising and media business, and live entertainment business. Project members, including customers, actually worked on construction fixtures at the site, creating a space filled with the spirit of manufacturing. D Sign Co., Ltd. was in charge of overall project management and Puddle Co., Ltd. was in charge of concept design design. [Customer Comments] In the new space that NOMURA has worked on, the number of events has increased approximately four times compared to before the renovation, and the number of visitors is on the rise, and our company office is returning to life. We can welcome our customers with confidence because we have a space and fixtures that are carefully designed to detail. < our company Project Members > [Sales/Project Management] Kaori Murakami, Shuichi Sakashita [Production/construction] Naoto Tominaga

Hida Space Science Museum Kamioka Lab

Hida Space Science Museum Kamioka Lab

Kamioka-cho, Hida City, Gifu Prefecture, is home to many research centers dedicated to exploring the mysteries of the universe and elementary particles. The Hida Space Science Museum KamiokaLab was opened at the roadside station "Sukai Dome Kamioka" as a place open to all to widely disseminate the appeal of research conducted using experimental equipment hidden 1,000 meters underground in the mountains of Hida, and to create new relationships between science and society. Neutrinos (※1) are mysterious elementary particles that are being researched around the world. The world's largest underground neutrino observation device, Super-Kamiokande (※2), which observes neutrinos, holds the key to unraveling the unsolved mysteries of the universe through neutrino research. KamiokaLab aims to provide a space where visitors can experience the mysterious properties of neutrinos and travel between the macroscopic world of the universe and the microscopic world of neutrinos, away from the everyday. *1: Neutral means neutral, meaning that it has no electric charge, and ino means small (in Italian). It is a mysterious particle and is being studied around the world. *2: Super-Kamiokande: The world's largest underground neutrino observation device operated by the Institute for Cosmic Ray Research, University of Tokyo. In addition to investigating the properties of neutrinos themselves, they are trying to use neutrinos to shed light on the history of the universe. [Customer's Issues/Requests] ・To allow many people to experience Super-Kamiokande, which only about 1,000 people per year visit the general public, at this facility. ・To get many visitors interested in the activities and physics of Super-Kamiokande through the displays. [Solution] ・To allow many visitors to experience and learn through realistic large-screen images and games that are easy for visitors to understand. [Customer's comments] It seems that NOMURA Co.'s planning skills are behind the creation of this attractive facility, despite the lack of curators specializing in the research fields of the exhibits. <Our project members> [Sales and project management] Haruya Miwa [Planning] Katsumi Hara, Kyohei Kishida [design, layout] Koki Mizuno, Tadashi Yuasa [Production and construction] Hayato Ichimata, Nanae Hori, Toshiyuki Suzuki, Katsumi Yamada, Yoshimasa Shimoide

Moominvalley Park

Moominvalley Park

Moomin Valley Park opened in Hanno City, Saitama Prefecture on March 16, 2019. Our company was in charge of the entire park planning, design, production planning, and construction. [Customer's challenge/theme] As this is the world's first permanent Moomin theme park, there was no precedent, so it was necessary to literally get approval from the publisher, Moomin Characters, from scratch on what kind of facility it should be and what kind of attractions would be good. In addition, since the scope of responsibility was wide, a large, well-coordinated team was required. [Solution] The deep understanding of the original work by the promotion members and repeated careful confirmation work with the publisher ultimately led to very high praise from the publisher and smooth approval. In addition, by assigning a promotion team consisting of the entire NOMURA Group, we created a situation where communication was always possible in all areas. [Customer's voice] The promotion members had a deep understanding of the Moomin characters and story, and approached content creation with love, which earned the licensor's trust and made the approval process go smoothly. It has been highly praised by guests as a facility where you can feel the love for characters. <Our project members> [Sales and project management] Shingo Terasaki, Tomohito Kawashima, Mirai Suzuki, Morifumi Nihei, Junichi Manabe, Haruhiko Kako [Planning and design] Masaki Kawahara, Kyosuke Horie, Asafumi Sasa, Sakae Kirioka, Kentaro Yamada, Yoko Suzuki, Masahiro Sugihara, Yuki Handa, Manami Nagao, Eri Isoyama, Satoshi Nakagawa, Hi Oikawa, Noriko Osaki, Kazumi Shimada, Hiroki Toyoda, Rina Saito, Ryosuke Naga [Graphic concept design] Minori Kaneno, Misao Kaneko, Ayaka Hagiya, Mayu Toyoda, Fujie Suzuki [Production and construction] Shunsaku Kimura, Tetsuji Inoue, Chuzo Seki, Kunihiko Hashimoto Nomura Products: Kiyohiko Hoshi, Naoaki Mori, Takeshi Niimi, Kiyomi Naoyuki, Wataru Yoshida [System Engineering] Kenji Suzuki, Isao Yokota Nomura Techno: Katsuji Oguchi, Masahiro Takano [Structural Calculation Work] Kiichi Fujihira

Starbucks Reserve (R) Roastery Tokyo

Starbucks Reserve (R) Roastery Tokyo

Starbucks Reserve(R) Roastery Tokyo, which combines coffee bean roasting capabilities, opened along the Meguro River in Nakameguro, Tokyo. This is the first Starbucks store to open in Japan and the fifth in the world. Each floor of the four-story store offers a different experience. Located in a vibrant and creative neighborhood, this charming concept design is inspired by the famous cherry blossom trees that line the Meguro River in full bloom. The space concept design aims to blend with the natural beauty of various parts of Japan, and is symbolized by an expansive glass surface that extends to the ceiling and a warm wooden terrace seating area. In the center of the store, a 17-meter-high cascade stretches to the fourth floor, where coffee beans are stored in a cask covered with 121 hand-hammered copper plates. Pipes carrying coffee beans run around the cask and throughout the restaurant, while the main bar on the first floor offers a variety of coffee brewing methods, and the authentic artisan bread available at the Italian bakery Princi (R), the first of its kind in Japan, is another attraction. In the area with a large roasting machine, visitors can also enjoy communicating with baristas and roasters over the counter; the Tibana Bar on the second floor offers a unique tea experience and a taste of the traditional Japanese tea journey, while the Alibiamo Bar, the first of its kind in Japan on the third floor, offers mixology and Craft Cocktails on the 3rd floor, where you can immerse yourself in a world of mixology and craft cocktails. In addition, the AMU Inspiration Lounge on the top four floors will serve as a venue for casual talks about social issues, a community outreach center, and a coffee training facility. The store will be the first Starbucks Roastery in Tokyo to be built from the ground up with a local architect, and the store exterior will be a collaboration with Kengo Kuma, a leading Japanese architect. concept design The space is a fusion of Japanese nature and tradition with modern concept design architecture, creating a space where people can explore and enjoy the experience of coffee. Based on the concept of a roasting factory and seating area coexisting in the same space, we sought a dynamic and entertaining composition incorporating the roastery's symbolic "cask" and bean pressure pipes, as well as an odd combination of delicate and understated Japanese materials. Solution: The cask is surrounded by a cherry blossom petal motif inspired by the cherry trees along the Meguro River. The cask itself was concept design patterned in such a way that the eye is guided upward, like the steam rising from a cup of coffee. The furniture is also interiors ・In addition to incorporating traditional Japanese craftsmanship and material processing techniques into the furniture, we have added a contemporary touch to create a new concept design like the copper cascade and origami ceiling motifs. We have created a space that will surprise, inspire, and engage visitors in the coffee experience. The first time you step into the shop, you will be overwhelmed by the overwhelming space. The fusion of Japanese nature and tradition with the modern concept design and the creation of each and every detail has been echoed by customers as one of the values of the immersive experience. In addition to the coffee and tea products, the entire world view of the building, which is surprising and exciting, is one of the main experiences of the Roastery Tokyo. <Our project members> 【interiors schematic design Cooperation, artwork concept design】 Eiji Kawasaki, Mai Takahashi 【working drawings】 Kyoko Aikawa, Yo Yamamoto, Yuki Yamaguchi, Junya Hagiwara 【 Production construction】 Ryohei Azechi, Jun Endo, Osamu Kojima 【 Project management, sales】 Seiji Yamaguchi, Yukako Ninomiya

Bosch Shibuya Head Office 10F "The NEST"

Bosch Shibuya Head Office 10F "The NEST"

A renovation project for Bosch Corporation's Shibuya headquarters. We were in charge of planning, design, layout, and construction to renovate one floor on the 10th floor into a communication space. From our experience of renovating the 4th floor of our headquarters building into a communication space "RE/SP", we thought it was important to create a mechanism for employees to interact. Based on the concept of "SCRAMBLE for MEET UP" (people gather, hatch new ideas, and then take off again), we designed it with the aim of creating a place where diverse employees can gather and interact on a daily basis. In order to express the mix through encounters and exchanges, just like in Shibuya, where Bosch's headquarters is located, we collaborated with various artists to create a space that allows concept design to interact with an open mind. We also participated in the creation phase, such as logo concept design and event planning and management. [Customer's challenge/theme] We were asked to concept design a place where employees could interact from a different perspective than the office floor, with the aim of revitalizing communication within the company and creating innovation. [Solution] We proposed a spatial configuration that would allow each employee to regain their vitality and deepen their connections. Specifically, with the aim of creating opportunities for communication that transcends age and departmental boundaries, the area has been divided into six major functions, including a counter where people can have casual conversations over a cup of coffee, a place to sit and relax on sofas, and a space to move around and refresh. By proactively incorporating furniture and art that will spark communication, we also aimed to create a place where spontaneous ideas that are difficult to generate in office areas can be born. There is also a product displays that allows people to experience Bosch's DNA, making it a place that provides hints for creating innovation. <Our project members> [Sales and project management] Ishii Kazushige, Murakami Kaori, Shishihori Tomoyo [design, layout] Yamanobe Manabu, Hagiwara Mitsutaka [Planning] Masubuch Kenta [Production and construction] Koike Tetsuji
