overview

Renovation project for Bosch Corporation Shibuya Head Office. We were in charge of planning, design, layout and construction for the renovation of one floor on the 10th floor into a communication space. Based on our experience of remodeling the 4th floor of the Head Office building into a communication space "RE/SP", we thought it was important to create an opportunity for interaction among employees. Based on the concept of "SCRAMBLE for MEET UP" (gather people, hatch new ideas, and fly out again), we designed the space to create a place where a diverse range of employees can gather and interact on a daily basis. Like Shibuya, where Bosch's Head Office is located, the space was composed in collaboration with various artists to express the mixing of people through encounters and exchanges, and is an open concept design where people can interact with an open mind. We also took part in the creation phase, including the logo concept design and event planning and management.

[Customer issues/themes]

The goal was to revitalize internal communication and foster innovation, so we were asked to concept design a space where employees could interact from a different perspective than that of the office floor.

【solution】

We proposed a spatial design that would allow each employee to regain their vitality and deepen their connections with one another. Specifically, with the aim of creating opportunities for communication that transcends age and departmental boundaries, we divided the space into six main functional areas, including a counter where people can have casual conversations over coffee, a place to relax on sofas, and a space to refresh themselves through physical activity. By actively incorporating furniture and art that would serve as catalysts for communication, we also aimed to create a space where spontaneous ideas that might be difficult to generate in the work area could emerge. Furthermore, we also included product displays that allow people to experience Bosch's DNA, making it a place that provides hints for generating innovation.
