Fukui Station Area Dinosaur Expansion Project

Fukui Station Area Dinosaur Expansion Project

Fukui Prefecture and Fukui City have launched the "Fukui Station Area Dinosaur displays Project" to promote "Fukui, the Dinosaur Kingdom" to visitors and create a lively atmosphere using dinosaurs, in preparation for the opening of the Hokuriku Shinkansen line between Fukui and Tsuruga in the spring of 2024. Fukui City is in charge of the east exit area of Fukui Station, and has installed a monument of a parent and child Triceratops with the theme of parental love in the east exit plaza. The parent Triceratops is a life-sized dinosaur robot that expresses parental love by moving and making sounds at set times. Meanwhile, the shelter area of Fukui Station is designed to resemble the world of land. Visitors can interact with three baby dinosaurs, including a Spinosaurus, and the egg monument is a photo spot where visitors can go inside and take pictures. In addition, the adjacent pedestrian walkway is designed to resemble the world of the sky. A bench where a child dreaming of becoming a paleontologist sits, and a sign reading "Pterosaur Sanctuary" have been installed. On the outer wall of Echizen Railway Fukui Station, facing the road beyond, a 20-meter-long mural of a herd of pteranodons is painted. Furthermore, the area under the elevated tracks is designed to evoke the world of the sea, with an internally illuminated "Marine Lizard Sanctuary" sign based on the blue of the ocean and benches adorned with reliefs of marine dinosaurs such as plesiosaurs. In this way, each area has a different theme, and the points of interest change to encourage visitors to explore the area.

TOYAMA TOWN TREKKING SITE

TOYAMA TOWN TREKKING SITE

Toyama City, Toyama Prefecture, and NOMURA Co.,Ltd. Co., Ltd. have opened "TOYAMA TOWN TREKKING SITE," a new lifestyle hub themed around "transforming a closed gymnasium into a gymnasium that connects to the outside." This project was selected as part of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications' FY2016 "Public Facility Open Renovation Project," which aims to revitalize public facilities owned by local governments with private sector vitality, such as creators, and turn them into new business hubs. The goal is to "revitalize" the dead space of the Toyama City General Gymnasium through renovation, creating a multi-generational exchange hub where residents can engage in town trekking (walking around town) and other activities. "TTS" is a complex facility that includes a cafe, sports shop, and studio. The facility will be equipped with facilities (hardware) to support town trekking, and will be operated as part of a new public service to support the health of Toyama citizens by regularly holding events (software) focused on "food education," "physical education," and health education. Leveraging its location adjacent to Kansui Park, which attracts 1.4 million visitors annually, this project aims to be a pioneering initiative in Japan. It will be used not only by users of the Toyama City General Gymnasium but also as a base for exploring the area, allowing citizens to experience "extended healthy life expectancy" and "improved quality of life (QOL)," while the local government strives to build a "positive cycle model of residents' healthy behavior and the local economy." "TTS" provides "time and space that nurtures people, not just time or space alone, which is necessary for the health of people and the city," and slowly creates a "space" where you can share something that belongs to no one else with others.

Noto Satoyama Satoumi Museum

Noto Satoyama Satoumi Museum

The Noriyama Satoyama Satoyama Sea Museum is a facility where visitors can experience the rich nature, wisdom of daily life, history, and culture nurtured in Nanao City. The museum does not categorize the charms of satoyama and satoumi as nature, history, or folklore, which cannot be captured in a unified manner, but rather as a fusion of fields and a multifaceted approach. The museum has set up mechanisms for both adults and children to enjoy, such as a spatial experience surrounded by insect and shell specimens, displays that tells visitors how fixed net fishing works, the experience of lifting Noto cold yellowtail, and a pull-out quiz. In the two-screen theater, a family's life and growth in the village are shown through images of Nanao's beautiful four seasons, drawing the viewer into the world of satoyama and satoumi. displays At the end of the room, we threw in the charms and challenges of satoyama and satoumi, creating an opportunity to think about the reality and the future of satoyama and satoumi. The client requested that we build a museum that creates the future based on the value of the 1,300 years of Noto Rikkoku life (nature, history, culture) and incorporate the perspectives of field museums, tourism, citizen collaboration, and local products. The Satoyama Sea is a system where people can coexist and sustain themselves with the nature they have nurtured. We proposed "Satoyama-Umi displays" as a comprehensive study by integrating various fields and conveying the concept in a multidisciplinary manner. The presentation also fosters civic pride by including a tourism introduction by a curator who guides visitors to Noto from a researcher's point of view and a video featuring citizens. In addition, the traditional crafts and local products of Noto Nanao are sublimated and expressed as elements of the space concept design, rather than being displayed as products. <Our project members > [Sales/Project Management] Akihide Inoue, Masahei Kishida [Planning] Masahei Kishida, Tadashi Yuasa [design, layout] Tadashi Yuasa, Reiko Kagawa [Signage/Graphics concept design] Satoko Hasegawa, Tadashi Yuasa [Production construction] Shin Kameoka, Yoshihito Inoue, Yoshisei Shimode

WOODY PARTS Factory Office

WOODY PARTS Factory Office

[Project Description] This project involved renovating the second-floor office area of a pre-cutting factory in Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture, into a reception area, library lounge, and showroom. The aim was to create a space that fulfills the role and function of an office while preserving the unique atmosphere of the factory. The theme is "Forests where people walk together" and "Wooden spaces where people can live richly," with the concept of understanding the growth of trees and supporting the coexistence of wood and people. [Client's Challenges/Requests] ● To create a creative space where people can gather and interact, with "wood" as the keyword. ● To create mechanisms that allow people to feel closer to wood by deepening their knowledge and understanding of wood and by actually touching it. ● To consider not only seeing and touching wood, but also holding workshops to promote wood education and interaction with craftsmen. ● The wooden parts of wooden houses, mainly the structure, tend to be hidden by floors, walls, and ceilings in daily life, making it difficult to take an interest in them. In such a situation, the aim was to create mechanisms that allow people to experience the wood material itself, processing technology, manufacturing staff, and product quality processed by Woody Parts with all five senses. [Solution] The reception area was designed so that employees and visitors could view the space with a sense of depth. This is symbolically expressed in the tables, lighting, and bookshelves that make up the library lounge. In the showroom, mesh material was used on the walls so that displays walls would not disrupt the atmosphere of the former factory space. Taking advantage of the spaciousness of the space, presentation spaces for B2B and B2C were prepared. In order to allow for clear presentations, the showroom was not designed to be explanatory, but rather a space that visually presents handiwork and technology, resembling an art gallery. Emphasis was also placed on the ease of updating information so that it would not become outdated over time. In the future, the aim of this office is to create a space where, in addition to the traditional "manufacturing" using wood, "experience creation" related to "living" will be born. [Customer Feedback] ●There has been an increase in conversations that are not about products (things), such as the scent and texture of wood. ●The number of visitors has increased, not from on-site staff of existing customers, housing companies, but from management, architects, and planners. <Our Project Members> [Sales & Project Management] Takuya Kitai, Yoshiki Yamada [design, layout] Hiroaki Koshizen [Production & construction] Kentaro Hirano Photography: Nakasa & Partners Co., Ltd.

Toyama Prefectural Museum of Art

Toyama Prefectural Museum of Art

[Project Overview] The museum, boasting a collection of masterpiece chairs and posters, places more emphasis than ever on concept design, aiming to become an experiential creative museum that "connects art and concept design." There are six displays rooms of varying sizes. Our company was responsible for the design and construction of the wall cases in the special displays room on the second floor. In addition to permanently displays approximately 50 chairs from the collection of about 240 chairs, we developed displays system for concept design displays room, which boasts a collection of approximately 13,000 posters. We also handled displays of works and materials by Shuzo Takiguchi and Simon Goldberg, which were donated when the museum was the Toyama Prefectural Museum of Modern Art. In the hall, we developed an experiential "interactive art" installation that creates light art through body movements. [Client's Challenge] The museum possesses a rich collection of 20th-century art and an unparalleled collection of concept design (chairs, posters). The goal is to create an experiential creative museum where visitors can freely explore this museum, deepen their knowledge of one genre, and not only grasp things in relation to various genres, but also develop a deep understanding and critical thinking skills. [Solution] We created distinctive displays spaces tailored to the theme of each displays room, including displays fixture planning, color scheme planning, lighting plan, and video/sound plan, resulting in memorable art and concept design experiences. Furthermore, we introduced "interactive art" in the hall, where visitors create light art through body movements, contributing as an element of an experiential, imaginative museum that connects art and concept design. <Our Project Members> [Development] Atsushi Ishikawa [Sales/Project Management] Atsushi Ishikawa [design, layout] Yasushi Kasuga [Production/ construction] Shunichiro Nagayama [Video] Akinori Goto
