Niigata Prefectural Natural Science Museum

This is a renovation project for the Niigata Prefectural Science Museum, which we undertook at the request of the Japan Foundation for Public Relations on Science and Technology.
About 40 years after the museum first opened in 1981, the "Beech Forest Environment and Creatures" and "Wind Power Experience" on the second floor and the "Moving Mysterious Room" on the third floor have been renovated into "Symphony of the Forest" and "Scale Adventure," respectively.
In order to realize the image of the [master displays plan] presented by the client, we considered and produced the video space, content, video system and graphics.

The examination will be based on the [displays Master Plan].
① It must be related to displays theme of the entire corner.
②The content must be based on social trends.

The realization of these three points was essential.

For "Symphony of the Forest," we sought to express the "biodiversity" nurtured by the beech forest and the "realism of the forest" that gives a sense of the presence of nature by projecting "The Four Seasons and Creatures of the Beech Forest" onto a screen positioned to blend in with the existing beech forest.
For "Scale Adventure," we wanted to create "attraction-type content" that would take us on an adventure from the micro to the macro, with a visual experience that seamlessly connects the entire space and non-contact sensors.

In order to realize the above issues, the staff worked together to carry out "video projection simulation", "sensor detection simulation", and "structural verification of projector installation", and while holding content meetings with curators, graphic design in anticipation of operating conditions. promoted.
