Noto Satoyama Satoumi Museum

The Noto Satoyama Satoumi Museum is a facility where you can experience the rich nature, wisdom of life, and history and culture nurtured in Nanao City. The attractiveness of Satoyama and Satoumi, which cannot be grasped in a unified way, is not classified as nature, history, or folklore, but is multidimensionally grasped by integrating fields. At the museum, we have set up features that both adults and children can enjoy, such as a space experience surrounded by insects and shellfish specimens, an displays that tells the mechanism of fixed net fishing, an experience of lifting Notokan yellowtail, and a drawer-type quiz. In the two-sided theater, the life and growth of a family in the village will be drawn into the world of satoyama and satoumi through images of Nanao's beautiful four seasons. At the end of the displays room, we presented the charms and challenges of Satoyama and Satoumi, creating an opportunity to think about the reality and future of Satoyama and Satoumi.

Based on the value of 1300 years of life in Noto (nature, history, culture), we received a request to build a museum that creates the future, and to incorporate the perspectives of field museums, tourism, citizen collaboration, and local products. there was.

Satoyama Satoumi is a system in which people can coexist and sustain themselves with the nature they have nurtured.
We proposed a "Satoyama Satoumi displays" as a comprehensive study by fusing the fields and communicating them in a multi-dimensional way. In addition, curators introduce sightseeing in Noto from a researcher's point of view, and incorporate videos in which citizens appear to foster civic pride. In addition, the traditional crafts and local products of Noto Nanao are sublimated and expressed as spatial concept design elements, rather than being displayed as products.
