Located on the first floor of the "YKK AP30 Building," which was constructed to commemorate the 30th anniversary of YKK AP's founding, this is the Philosophy Hall, where you can learn about the company's philosophy and history.
While incorporating elements that are characteristic of YKK AP, such as aluminum, glass, curtains, and light, we incorporated and visualized the company culture's communication style of "sitting in a circle, talking, and providing hospitality" into the spatial composition.
displays used symbolic displays techniques reminiscent of aluminum extrusion technology, contrasts of light and shadow, and immersive video effects to communicate the philosophy, attention to detail, and passion that went into the products through everything that could be touched and seen.
Rather than a one-way information transmission, we used artistic displays techniques to express the concept of "Architectural Products" that combine technology and beauty, appealing to emotions and allowing employees to speak in their own words, creating information concept design that would serve as a medium to deepen understanding and relationships with business partners.
Our goal was to create a space where all visitors could come into contact with YKK AP's philosophy, empathize with its thoughts and values, and build a relationship of trust as partners.
For the new office building commemorating the 30th anniversary of the company's founding, we needed a place that could convey YKK AP's philosophy and recently established purpose, "A company that brings happiness to society through Architectural Products," and where employees around the world can empathize with the company as a reliable partner from a global perspective by showing how they think about and act on this purpose.
In order to more concretely communicate the values that YKK AP holds dear, such as its philosophy and purpose, which are difficult to express in concrete terms, we planned displays that focused on the attention to detail in its products and the passion of its employees, which strongly reflect that philosophy. Rather than using a communication method that simply involves having visitors read explanatory text, we took an artistic approach that blended into the interior design to allow visitors to feel the attention to detail, beauty, technical skill, and passion that are consistent throughout YKK AP's products. Furthermore, we adopted a circle seating style that allows visitors to naturally face each other, creating a space for communication through hospitality and dialogue, and encouraging trust and empathy.
As a place where customers can experience the YKK AP philosophy, we have incorporated the YKK Group's culture of hospitality by sitting in a circle with customers into the spatial composition and named it "ENZA," which has been well received by customers.
