JAL New Chitose Airport Domestic Lounge

JAL New Chitose Airport Domestic Lounge

[Project Overview] This project involved the renovation of JAL lounges at New Chitose Airport's domestic terminal. Based on the concept of "Japanese aesthetics," concept design incorporated the "texture of Japanese materials" and "colors that evoke the corporate color red," creating open, high-quality, and sophisticated spaces for both the Sakura Lounge and the Diamond Premier Lounge, the highest-end domestic lounge. The seating layout was carefully designed to be functional while offering a variety of seating options to suit various occasions. [Client's Challenges] The main challenges were concretely expressing the JAL brand keyword "sophistication" and differentiating the lounge from the Haneda JAL International Terminal Lounge (NOMURA Co.,Ltd. AND concept design). Furthermore, there was a need to consider how to express the individuality of each airport when expanding to major airports (approximately 5 airports) in the future. Functionally, challenges included securing the number of seats calculated from the total square footage and expanding baggage storage capacity. [Solution] While the international lounge used a light wood base for differentiation, this domestic lounge differentiated itself by expressing the corporate color "red" through various materials, creating concept design that focuses on the brand. To express "sophistication," we used sharp textures such as "glass and metal" and incorporated cutting-edge art to create a highly refined space. The need for expanded storage was addressed by designing custom-made furniture that ensured ample storage space. <Our Project Members> [Sales/Project Management] Hisayasu Takenaka [Direction] Ryu Kosaka [design, layout] Hirofumi Takeuchi

Weathernews in-house nursery school “WNI RAIN KIDS HOUSE”

Weathernews in-house nursery school “WNI RAIN KIDS HOUSE”

[Project Overview] Weathernews Inc. established "WNI RAIN KIDS HOUSE" (pronounced "WNI Rain Kids House"), an in-house daycare center, with the aim of creating an environment where employees can balance childcare and career success. This in-house daycare center was established on the grounds of Makuhari Techno Garden, where the company is located, with the aim of creating an environment where employees can work with peace of mind, and it also has an after-school program that accepts children up to the 6th grade of elementary school. The name "RAIN" in the daycare center reflects the company's wish for children to develop respectfulness, adventurousness, and independence. The company requested a unique spatial design that would express the concept, as well as efficient functionality to accommodate mixed-age childcare by combining a daycare center and after-school program. Our company's project members consist of working fathers and mothers. Leveraging their childcare experience, we planned and designed the naming of each class and the educational programs. The space expresses "RAIN," and every detail, from the logo graphics to the design, reflects Weathernews' unique style. Working in collaboration with Team M, the design and construction also prioritize safety and environmental considerations. [Customer Feedback] We discussed various themes and concepts internally to create a facility unique to Weathernews, and NOMURA Co.,Ltd. skillfully brought that process to life. For example, the logo concept design and concept resonated with our staff, and we were impressed by the idea of drawing a weather map from our founding day on the floor, which we adopted. Thanks to NOMURA Co.,Ltd. Kogeisha's wide range of proposals, we were able to open a wonderful in-house daycare center that truly reflects Weathernews's spirit. Saga Prefectural Space Science Museum《Yumeginga》

Saga Prefectural Space Science Museum《Yumeginga》

The Saga Prefectural Space Science Museum "Yumeginga" was established in 1999 as a communication facility connecting people and science. Since 2006, our company has been the representative of the "designated manager," and currently operates it jointly with Mabec Co., Ltd. The concept is to "nurture children's scientific spirit," "convey the wonder of discovery and creation," and "discover and recognize a comprehensive understanding of space, Earth, and Saga, and their relationship to oneself." Along with displays that enhance learning, we have planned displays that cater to tourists and are noteworthy enough to be shared nationwide. The facility has three zones: the "Saga Discovery Zone," the "Earth Discovery Zone," and the "Space Discovery Zone," and our company was in charge of all zones when it opened. Over the course of a quarter of a century since its opening, the "Earth Discovery Zone" underwent a complete renovation, and in 2024, the "Space Discovery Zone" underwent a complete renovation. The concept for the renovation of the "Space Discovery Zone," which is full of excitement like the stars in space, is "A long journey to space." This exhibition connects two perspectives—space science, which seeks to unravel the mysteries of the universe, and space activities, in which humanity challenges itself to explore space—through the theme of "life." The entire displays space grandly depicts where our lives originate, where we are headed, and how we interact with the universe. Furthermore, the aim is to create displays experience that makes the universe feel closer and broadens visitors' perspectives, leading them to the two existing zones on other floors.
