Renewal of Seibu Chichibu Station

[Outline of the project]
A comprehensive renovation project for the existing station building of Seibu Chichibu Station with the aim of creating a new bustling base for regional tourism that brings together the diverse attractions of the Chichibu area and disseminates it to the world.
Through the selection of materials unique to Chichibu, such as local cedar and lanterns, and the creation of an original logo, we are communicating the diverse charms of the Chichibu area.
We assisted with the concept, the basic concept design of the architecture and interiors, and the design supervision.

[Customer issues]
By becoming a station building that raises the expectations of customers who will be visiting tourist spots in the future, and where customers returning from sightseeing spots can feel the afterglow,
We were asked to contribute to the sustainable development of the region by making Chichibu tourism more impressive and memorable for our customers.

【solution】
We aimed to create a station building that is loved by the local community and a place that connects with visitors by bringing together the diverse attractions of Chichibu, such as its rich nature, inherited culture, and lively festivals.
Against the background of "black ink" that exudes dignity, local culture is expressed through the use of locally produced materials such as "Chichibu cedar" and the local industry of "chochin".
The delicate latticework of the "weaving pattern" that weaves the scenery and culture, and the "Chichibu crest" that changes with the seasons add color to the space, making it a space where you can feel Chichibu everywhere.
In a space that emphasizes the climate, history, and culture of Chichibu, we have planned a "place" where the region and tourism are connected and new experiences and communication are born.
