overview
[Project Overview]
A project to renovate JAL lounges in the domestic terminal at New Chitose Airport.
Based on the concept of "Japanese aesthetics," we incorporated the textures of traditional Japanese materials and the red tones of materials that reflect our corporate color, concept design an open, high-quality, and sophisticated space for both the Sakura Lounge and the Diamond Premier Lounge, our top-tier domestic lounge.
We have carefully designed the seating layout to be functional yet offer a wide variety of seating options to suit various situations.
[Customer's Challenges]
The main challenges were to concretely express the JAL brand keyword "sophistication" and to differentiate it from the Haneda JAL International Lounge (designed NOMURA Co.,Ltd. AND concept design).
Furthermore, there was consideration of how to express the unique characteristics of each airport when expanding to major airports (approximately 5 airports) in the future. Functionally, challenges included securing the number of seats calculated from the total square footage and expanding baggage storage capacity.
【solution】
While our international flights feature a light wood-based concept design for differentiation, our domestic flights are differentiated by focusing on the brand by incorporating our corporate color, "red," through various materials.
In expressing "sophistication," we used sharp textures such as "glass and metal" and incorporated cutting-edge art to create a highly refined space.
We addressed the need to expand storage capacity by designing custom-made furniture that provides ample storage space.
