Through the works related to the construction of the Great Buddha, we were able to see the essence of the Tenpei culture. In addition to the 4.5-meter-tall octagonal lantern (National Treasure) in front of the Great Buddha Hall being unveiled for the first time outside the temple, the Nativity Buddha Statue (National Treasure), which is known as the Japan largest ancient birth Buddha, and the Kakuraku Mask (Important Cultural Property), which was used for the Great Buddha's eye-opening memorial service, were displays in one place. In addition, he introduced the history of Todaiji Temple, which has been passed down to the present day, through masterpieces of portrait sculptures of Jugen Jojin and Kōkei Johito, who revived the Great Buddha in the Kamakura and Edo periods.
