The Prince Hakone Lake Ashinoko

The Prince Hakone Lake Ashinoko

[Project Overview] This project involves renovating the guest rooms in the annex and the banquet hall on the first floor of The Prince Hakone Ashinoko into a grill restaurant. The aim was to incorporate the atmosphere of the scenic location, with its lush green mountains, the clear blue waters of Lake Ashi, and the view of Mount Fuji on clear days, into the hotel. [Client's Challenges] The planning involved utilizing the existing layout of the banquet hall on the first floor while coordinating it with the newly constructed open kitchen. The challenge for the guest rooms was to create a sense of renewal while retaining existing elements such as the beds, desks, and wainscoting designs, and adjusting concept design. [Solution] The restaurant's design incorporates calming materials, reflecting its location as a grill restaurant on the shores of Lake Ashi. Furthermore, the use of colors enhances the appeal of grilled dishes, and the space is designed to enhance the lively atmosphere of the newly constructed open kitchen. The guest rooms are designed with the concept of "the nature of Hakone and Lake Ashi," incorporating elements inspired by the scenery of Lake Ashi in Hakone, such as the sparkling water, the lovely flowers blooming along the lakeshore, the beautiful cedar trees, and the fantastical morning mist, to create a relaxing space. <Our Project Members> [Project Management/Sales] Masanori Kogure, Kae Omomo [design, layout] Sachiko Taihiji, Kaori Ogushi, Manami Nagao, Eri Isoyama, Chihiro Kazeto [construction] Tadayuki Mizuno, Taishi Takami

Oiso Prince Hotel

Oiso Prince Hotel

[Project Overview] This project involves renovating the existing guest room building in anticipation of the opening of a new building in July 2017, which will include the "THERMAL SPA S.WAVE" hot spring and spa facility. The aim was to create a seaside resort facility that combines the familiarity unique to Oiso, a historic villa area, with the newness that connects to the new building. [Client's Challenges] The theme was to renovate the existing accommodation building in a way that would enhance the overall appeal of the facility while aligning it with the already ongoing hot spring and spa building project. Another challenge was to transform the facility, which had been focused on summer due to its proximity to Oiso Long Beach, into a year-round resort hotel. [Solution] In Oiso, the birthplace of Shonan, the renovation was based on the concept of "Shonan Luxury," where guests can spend a relaxing and luxurious day feeling the sea and breeze. The goal was to create "the resort hotel closest to the city" by adding not only a swimming pool, but also tennis courts, a golf course, and a bowling alley. By subtly partitioning the entrance hall, lobby, party room, and restaurant areas, and creating spaces that allow for airflow, we renovated the space into a resort where you can feel the ocean no matter where you are. <Our Project Members> [Project Management/Sales] Masanori Kogure, Kae Omomo [design, layout] Sachiko Taihiji, Kaori Ogushi, Eri Isoyama, Chihiro Kazeto [construction] Tadayuki Mizuno, Yusuke Yamada, Naoya Kuwamata, Yui Tanaka

Hilton Tokyo Bay Room Renovation Project

Hilton Tokyo Bay Room Renovation Project

<Project Overview> This project involves renovating the guest rooms (196 rooms), corridors, and elevator halls on the 6th and 7th floors of Hilton Tokyo Bay. We were able to undertake this project as a design and construction project because we won the design work through a design competition and the interior construction and FF&E work through a construction bid. As a result, we were able to provide a space that meets Hilton's quality standards while also being suitable for business travelers in a resort area, all within a limited construction period and budget. <Client's Challenges> Hilton Tokyo Bay primarily caters to guests visiting Tokyo Disney Resort®, offering fun rooms where guests can experience a fantasy world. Therefore, the theme of this renovation was to provide guest rooms where business travelers and adults enjoying themselves can also relax without feeling out of place. <Solution> The view from this location was remarkably similar to the Tokyo Bay depicted in Katsushika Hokusai's ukiyo-e print "Thirty-Six Views of Tomi Musume," so the design concept was to directly express the materials and colors from the ukiyo-e print in the space. We thought that by doing so, the space would become familiar to Japanese people from long ago, while also being a fresh and uniquely Japanese space for foreigners. We used the distinctive blue gradation of Ukiyo-e prints for the floor, wood from ships floating on the sea for the furniture, and copper plates used in lanterns as accent colors, expressing tranquility and peace throughout the entire space. <Our Project Members> [Sales/Project Management] Masayuki Yoshimori [Design/Planning] Keita Aono/Hiroyuki Sugata/Kyoko Aikawa [Production/Construction] Takayuki Gara
