overview

"OMO5 Kyoto Sanjo" has opened on Kyoto Sanjo Street, where Kyoto is packed with fun things to see, buy, and eat.

As a mechanism to fully enjoy "Kyoto Sanjo", there is a townhouse tower that conveys the history of Takasegawa and information on shops, a town walking map that allows you to enjoy two different courses along the Takasegawa and Sanjo retro town, and a walking map around Sanjo. In the lobby, we have set up content that leads to walking around Sanjo, such as an artwork with the letter "San" lined up with old maps from three different eras, and an art panel frottage of Sanjo no Michi.
In addition, in the renovation of the guest room, we have created a small rise where suitcases can be stored, and have devised ways to use the space widely by consolidating the bed and sofa areas.

Issues/requests

The area is rich in tourist resources and there are many competing accommodation facilities, but the hotel needed to be attractive enough to be an "urban tourist hotel" with a walking town concept. The hotel itself was built less than a year ago and closed soon after due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so interiors was in good condition. We needed to come up with ideas for display content that would allow people to enjoy the Sanjo area while renovating the hotel to make the most of the existing areas.

solution

From the historical survey of the surrounding area, we proposed contents such as graphics (picture scrolls and maps) and maps that convey the charm of the old Takase River and retro Western-style buildings on Sanjo Street, as well as a townhouse tower that can be used for event workshops and stalls. Ta.
As part of our policy of maximizing the use of the existing parts, we made a proposal to add value to the OMO brand by placing contents and graphics with the theme of "Sanjo" at the entrance and lounge.
