overview

Hamamatsu Castle Keep is a park facility built in 1958 with donations from citizens. Sixty years had passed since its completion, and the displays and decorations in the facility had become dilapidated. This project is a renewal work of the displays area with the aim of enhancing the appeal of Hamamatsu Castle Park as a central park and improving the satisfaction of citizens and visitors in the 450th anniversary year since Prince Ieyasu Tokugawa built Hamamatsu Castle. We were in charge of interiors including landscaping, signage graphics, visual software hardware, lighting electrical work, and fixture furniture design construction.

【solution】
・ Focusing on the fact that "young Ieyasu" was indeed inhabiting Hamamatsu Castle, and the historical background in which Ieyasu was placed at the time, focusing on the 17 years, and the people surrounding Ieyasu, "Passion" and "Situation" We planned and designed the zone into layers of "scenery".
・Produce a passion stage that expresses the “passion” of the young Ieyasu. The history of Hikima Castle, the predecessor of Hamamatsu Castle, the construction, renovation, and abandonment of Hamamatsu Castle, and Hamamatsu Castle Park was introduced in a panoramic theater using existing models.
・Tenryu cedar, which is produced in Hamamatsu City, is used for the “scenery” layer on the 3rd floor. As part of the renovation, it became the first castle in Japan to receive FSC® project certification.

【customer's voice】
For this renewal, the current status and issues of the castle tower have been accurately organized, and the latest technology videos and recent discoveries and research have been incorporated to complete the renovation. In addition, there is an introduction to castle ruins that can be visited in the city, explanations of places related to Prince Ieyasu, legends, and food culture. It has become a facility where you can look back on history.
We received comments from visitors such as "I understand the history of Hamamatsu Castle well" and "It has become fashionable". In addition to the improvement, we recognize that it has led to further regional revitalization and functional improvement as a base facility for tourism exchange.
