Tokyo Station Yaesu North Exit Concourse / Specialty Store "Tokyo Gift Palette"

"Tokyo Gift Palette" is a new specialty store developed near the Yaesu North Exit of Tokyo Station, and a total of 33 brands have opened stores.
The pillars and ceilings of this facility, which is the gateway to Tokyo, were made from recycled aluminum used in the body of the Series 700 Shinkansen, which was retired from the Tokaido Shinkansen in March 2020. Decorated with the image of "cherry blossom petals" and "goodwill" suitable for a terminal station, it is a highly value-added sustainable space that connects people's thoughts by taking advantage of the high quality and high-quality feeling unique to the 700 Series Shinkansen.
We participated in a project by Tokyo Station Development Co., Ltd., and were involved from the development stage of building materials, and produced and construction in environmental area interiors construction. I was responsible for production and project management.

This is the first time that recycled aluminum without mixtures has been used in the decoration of commercial spaces since the start of operation of the Shinkansen in 1964, and this project has received a development award from the Japan Aluminum Association.

・With future labor shortages and building material shortages in mind, we would like to develop technology to turn Shinkansen aluminum into building materials and improve environmental conservation and business viability through recycling.
・By using recycled aluminum building materials, we can ensure the quality and safety of the space and ensure smooth construction operations during the coronavirus pandemic.

When it comes to turning recycled aluminum into building materials and decorations, we leveraged our experience to provide production advice. In addition, in the process of producing actual recycled aluminum building materials as interiors materials, we continued to pursue quality and safety by making multiple prototypes and testing full-scale mock-ups at our training center.
As a result, we are realizing Tokyo Station Development's ideal concept design in terms of sustainable manufacturing, contributing not only to environmental conservation, but also to improving business efficiency by reducing construction costs and promoting the culture of Tokyo Station. .
