Usufuku Head Office

This is a project to rebuild the new office of Usufuku Main Store, which was damaged by the Great East Japan Earthquake.

Usufuku Honten is a fishing company with a history of over 130 years, founded in 1882. Based on the philosophy of “living with the sea,” we are engaged in deep-sea tuna fishing and tuna longline fishing, and are responsible for the reconstruction of Kesennuma and Tohoku.

The exterior concept design recreates the copper plates used on the exterior walls of the former main house, which were swept away by the tsunami, creating a new copper scale-patterned wall. Over time, the copper plates will change in texture and color to resemble those of the former main house. In addition, elements of tuna fishing boats have been extracted and incorporated into the architecture, such as curved windows and railings. Our company was responsible for concept design concept design the exterior, the first-floor entrance, the second-floor office, and the third-floor president's office and reception room.
