Usufuku Head Office

This is a project to rebuild the new office of Usufuku Main Store, which was damaged by the Great East Japan Earthquake.

Usufuku Honten is a fishing company with a history of over 130 years, founded in 1882. Based on the philosophy of “living with the sea,” we are engaged in deep-sea tuna fishing and tuna longline fishing, and are responsible for the reconstruction of Kesennuma and Tohoku.

The exterior concept design recreates the copper plates used on the exterior walls of the old main house, which was washed away in the tsunami, to create a new copper scale wall. Over the years, the copper plate will change to the same texture and color as the old main house. Elements of tuna fishing boats have also been extracted and curved windows and handrails have been incorporated into the architecture. concept design scope that we were in charge of included the exterior concept design, the first floor entrance, the second floor office, and the president's office and reception room on the third floor.
