overview

This facility is a showroom for Mitsui Fudosan Residential's condominium sales. Located on the first floor of a building in the center of Sendai, it takes advantage of its location, which is clearly visible from outside, to create a space based on the concept of "EN - a place that connects people with people, town with people, inside with outside, and ties," and is modeled after the "engawa" (veranda) commonly found in Japanese houses. In the presentation space in the center, a condominium model and video are used to welcome residents with an exciting displays presentation. In the surrounding park-like space that connects to the outside, business negotiations about "living" can also be conducted.

In addition, in order to promote diversity and inclusion, the company has introduced a para-art subscription service in some of its condominiums in the Sendai area, and is working to provide opportunities for people to become independent and thrive. To raise awareness of these efforts, art was displayed in some of the meeting spaces, and a mini gallery showcasing para-artists was also set up in a space that resembles an apartment balcony and is visible from the sidewalk.

Issues/requests

Mitsui Fudosan Residential continues to create homes that will set the standard for the next generation, including homes filled with style and elegance, and homes that inherit the history and feelings of the land. For the showroom for selling condominiums, the company was required to value this concept and create a hospitable space that would link with the local community and communicate with each individual in a style that was tailored to each individual.

solution

Based on the image of the "engawa" (veranda) commonly found in Japanese houses, the space was designed to allow communication in a style that is tailored to each individual.

Sendai is known as the "City of Forests," and this "forest" does not simply refer to trees, but to the lush greenery that the people who live in the city have cultivated over many years with the cooperation of the city's residents. In order to incorporate this regional character, the facility lights up the greenery and creates a large silhouette on the ceiling to create a sense of connection with the outdoors, and also incorporates it as displays to attract residents. It values the Japanese lifestyle of appreciating nature, and creates a high-quality, luxurious atmosphere where you can enjoy the changing shadows depending on the time of day.
