Kikuchi City Central Library
[Project Description]
The city's central library is located on the first floor of Kikuchi City's Lifelong Learning Center KiCROSS.
We concept design a diverse space that generates a variety of experiences with large, curved, undulating bookshelves inspired by the flow of the river in Kikuchi Valley, the pride of Kikuchi City. The bookshelves gently divide the space, inviting people in and characterizing it from a lively area near the entrance to a quiet place for immersing yourself in reading. The bookshelves change shape to create a variety of places, with holes, steps, and enclosed areas.
NOMURA also receives orders and concept design applications such as displays corners, facility VI concept design, library signs, and brochures.
The open shelves can store up to 85,000 books.
