Nomura is taking part in this event as a co-participant in support of Mitsui Fudosan Co., Ltd.'s idea of "fusing the city with parks, creating a town that enriches the soul by connecting greenery and open spaces with the town," Tokyo Midtown Management Co., Ltd.'s approach of "creating new value while preserving history and culture," and Discover Japan Inc. NOMURA philosophy of "rediscovering the charm of Japan and aiming to create opportunities for Japanese culture to continue into the future."

This NOMURA is a place where people can think about how to create a town that enriches the soul, while also creating an opportunity to think about a future where we can "live with trees" through various experiences that "know trees." Designer Hiroshi Inoue will be speaking at the symposium to be held on Friday, April 19th at 6pm We will also talk about how to make things using wood. About NOMURA Social Good R&D "Hand concept design"

To pass on the long relationship between the forest and people to the next generation through daily work.

NOMURA Group is working on sustainable concept design as a part of its social good R&D activities. "Hand concept design" is one part of this activity, and we aim to "realize a business that balances the creation of rich spaces with the creation of forests for the future," and we are working to develop concept design that utilize the value of wood in collaboration with wood producing areas.

The content of our presentation at this event was born from the collaboration between our creators and the forestry and lumber industry in Hanno City, Saitama Prefecture, one of our partner production areas, as well as the local community. The introduction area focuses on discarded wood waste and other materials, and is an attempt to sublimate them into an installation. In the panel exhibition, prototypes made by our creators will be displays. In the symposium, designers will talk about their "hand concept design" efforts and changes in creation.
