[Project Overview] The Takenaka Tools Museum was opened as the only museum of carpentry tools in Japan with the theme of "Connecting people and nature, connecting tradition and innovation." Carpentry tools have a harsh fate of being used until they wear out and then disappear, especially the higher the quality of the tools. In order to convey to future generations the wonderfulness of the tools and "spirit of craftsmanship" that will disappear, the museum has created a space where you can feel the skills and wisdom of the craftsmen and their dedication to their work through the five senses, such as life-size models and tools, videos and photos, and workshops. We assisted with design, layout, interior administration, construction, and construction supervision. [Customer's comments] They dug deep into each theme and pursued the maximum concept design suitable for each displays, not just superficial matters. Even when it came to construction, they carried out very careful work promotion, such as checking prototypes. By introducing participatory and experience-based displays that were not available in the old building, the number of family visitors increased, and the expected effect was achieved.
