3×3LabFuture

3×3LabFuture

<Project Overview> This facility was planned and designed as a hub for exchange and activity that transcends industry and business boundaries, operated by an affiliated organization of Mitsubishi Estate Co., Ltd. Aiming to realize a sustainable society for the next generation, and with its three elements of "environment," "economy," and "society" meshing together like gears, this facility, named "3x3LabFuture" from the concept of a "third place" that is neither work nor home, aims to foster the formation of various communities and the emergence of businesses that connect to the future. <Client's Challenges> The client's challenges included creating diverse gathering spaces where visitors from various industries and business types, from individuals to large groups, can interact and engage in activities, and expressing the environmentally advanced nature of the office equipment. <Solutions> We planned and designed spaces such as a "salon" space capable of hosting large seminars, a "communication zone" that can be freely utilized, a "workshop kitchen" and "future cafe" as exchange spaces using cooking as a medium, and a "wonderful corridor" that can accommodate various displays. Every single interiors material, furniture, and fixture was carefully selected with environmental considerations in mind. <Our Project Members> [design, layout] Echiyo Suzuki, Ryo Onishi, Kyoko Kosugi [Production & construction] Yukio Marumori [Sales & Project Management] Shun Kawai

Weathernews in-house nursery school “WNI RAIN KIDS HOUSE”

Weathernews in-house nursery school “WNI RAIN KIDS HOUSE”

[Project Overview] Weathernews Inc. established "WNI RAIN KIDS HOUSE" (pronounced "WNI Rain Kids House"), an in-house daycare center, with the aim of creating an environment where employees can balance childcare and career success. This in-house daycare center was established on the grounds of Makuhari Techno Garden, where the company is located, with the aim of creating an environment where employees can work with peace of mind, and it also has an after-school program that accepts children up to the 6th grade of elementary school. The name "RAIN" in the daycare center reflects the company's wish for children to develop respectfulness, adventurousness, and independence. The company requested a unique spatial design that would express the concept, as well as efficient functionality to accommodate mixed-age childcare by combining a daycare center and after-school program. Our company's project members consist of working fathers and mothers. Leveraging their childcare experience, we planned and designed the naming of each class and the educational programs. The space expresses "RAIN," and every detail, from the logo graphics to the design, reflects Weathernews' unique style. Working in collaboration with Team M, the design and construction also prioritize safety and environmental considerations. [Customer Feedback] We discussed various themes and concepts internally to create a facility unique to Weathernews, and NOMURA Co.,Ltd. skillfully brought that process to life. For example, the logo concept design and concept resonated with our staff, and we were impressed by the idea of drawing a weather map from our founding day on the floor, which we adopted. Thanks to NOMURA Co.,Ltd. Kogeisha's wide range of proposals, we were able to open a wonderful in-house daycare center that truly reflects Weathernews's spirit.
