Tochigi Health Checkup Plaza is a medical facility for health checkups (hereinafter referred to as "health checkups") and medical examinations that relocated and opened on January 15, 2024.
In this modern age where people are expected to live to 100 years old, regular health checkups and medical examinations are becoming more important than ever. In order to realize the wishes of many patients, who want their annual checkup to be a "rich and special day," we have created a space that is full of hospitality, from the architecture to the interior and furniture concept design.
In order to respond to the needs of our customers and a wide range of concept design fields, we teamed up with NAU (now the Architectural Production Department), which specializes in total concept design on an urban planning and architectural scale, and the interior concept design team, which specializes in the hospitality market such as hotels. By utilizing each other's expertise and providing a total concept design from an architectural scale to a human scale, we were able to ease the psychological anxieties of patients and create a space where they can spend their time comfortably.
With a smart appearance symbolizing a cutting-edge medical facility and a space filled with elegant colors, we aimed to create a facility that would take root in the local community and be beloved as a symbol of the town.
For many patients, their health checkup comes once a year. Depending on the content of the test, some may feel mentally and physically stressed, so we wanted to create a space where they could spend the time as comfortably as possible, and to create a unique and special space that would realize their wish to make this extraordinary day "a rich and special day."
The architectural concept design was chosen to blend in with the surrounding scenery, as the building is located in a residential area with lush greenery and wide skies. For the façade, delicate white louvers were used, which do not interfere with the streetscape surrounded by nature. The louvers, all of which are different in length and angle, blend into the streetscape while showing different expressions depending on the viewing point. The louvers are installed at the openings connecting the inside and outside of the building to provide a moderate amount of privacy, bringing a sense of security and comfort to the interior space. In addition, the soft caving of the louvers allows outside light to be appropriately taken in, reducing the environmental impact of direct sunlight and wind. Furthermore, the angles and shapes are designed to not adversely affect the surrounding wind environment, taking the surrounding environment into consideration.
The interior concept design concept was "coloring the extraordinary," and was made to be glamorous and add color to life. All spaces, including the separate men's and women's spaces, examination rooms, restrooms, elevators, stairs, and cafe, have been concept design differently. Each space is symbolized by a highly saturated color, and is constructed in a well-balanced manner using high-quality materials from Japan and abroad, as well as lighting, furniture, plants, and art with delicate details, to create a refined and elegant impression. Scenes of gorgeous and elegant spaces unfold one after the other, enriching an extraordinary day. In addition, curves are used in the design of each interior part to create a space with a soft impression without a feeling of oppression.
We have received praise from our customers and business partners for the luxury of our facilities. In addition, some employees have commented during job interviews that they would like to work in a facility like this.
