overview

This is a renovation project for The Mana Village, a hotel located at the tip of Cape Ashizuri in Kochi Prefecture. The project began in 2020 to transform the former Ashizuri Pacific Hotel into one of Asia's leading resort hotels, The Mana Village. This project involved renovating three new types of guest rooms and an open-air bath. Young hotel staff and designers created playful concept rooms unlike anything seen in The Mana Village before, with the desire to "provide guests with fun memories."
This is an ongoing project in which we aim to build anticipation by sharing the hotel's transformation with guests.

Issues/requests

While maintaining the goal of "renovating this long-established hotel into one of Asia's leading resort hotels" that was the goal of the first and second phases of renovation, ARTH Group (Tosashimizu Resort LLC) wanted to create a new concept room that would utilize the flexible imagination of the young employees.

solution

The first and second phases of renovation focused on Western-style rooms, so this time we focused on Japanese-style rooms that make use of the natural surroundings, and planned to be able to meet the needs of a variety of guests.

・Suite Room "The Mana Room"
We have newly created a Japanese-style suite room with sauna, measuring approximately 96 m² and combining three rooms into one. It comes with a sofa where you can relax in front of the vast ocean, a kitchen and minibar where you can enjoy drinks and snacks from Kochi, and a spa space with a sauna, cold bath, a bathtub facing a large open window, and a bed for hammam (herbal steam) bathing, making it a room where guests can spend a luxurious time.

・Deluxe Room "Yui" (also known as the young people's room)
This concept room was created by utilizing the imagination of the ARTH Group's young employees, and was planned and created together with our young designers. Targeting young families, the concept was "a room for enjoying irreplaceable 'time' with loved ones," and a guest room with a different feel to anything we've had up until now has been created.

・Deluxe Room (Japanese style)
This is the first tatami-style room since the renovation. The spacious room, which combines two rooms into one, is equipped with a comfortable bed and sofa overlooking the sea. Upon arrival, guests can take a break on the raised area, or sit on the sofa at dusk and enjoy the sunset with a drink in hand, creating a space where guests can fully enjoy the scenery of Ashizuri that changes with the time of day.

In order to take advantage of this great location and provide a unique experience, we will continue to work with the ARTH Group from the planning stage on service content.
