THE BASE SPORTS BIKE & COMMUNITY

"THE BASE SPORTS BIKE & COMMUNITY" is a project to create a new concept shop specializing in road bikes for cyclists, in response to the increased demand for bicycles during the COVID-19 pandemic and the growing interest in road bikes due to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The store's exterior features a cycling path that extends into the shop, allowing customers to enter while still on their bicycles. Inside, there's an artificial turf rest area and experience space in the center, where customers wearing clipless cycling shoes can relax comfortably while enjoying test rides and other experiential events, maintenance, and purchasing accessories to upgrade their bikes. Customers can also enjoy communicating with each other through their shared hobby of cycling.
Furthermore, the fixtures utilize pallets at their bases, allowing for flexible layouts, and the louvers surrounding the sales floor walls are designed to allow bicycles to be displays face-out.
View life as a cycling road, and this is a place to stop along the way to rest or perform maintenance.
We are proposing this type of space as a concept design approach for our new store.
