overview

Tama Rokuto Science Museum opened in 1994, underwent its first displays renovation in 2001, and underwent a second renovation in March 2013.
The 2013 renewal took advantage of the double benefit of having the displays designer and designated manager be the same person, and NOMURA Co.,Ltd. 's planners and designers absorbed and refined the opinions of the science museum staff on-site. In addition to giving displays rooms a new look while making use of the existing displays, the environment has become easier to use and manage for the science museum staff working on the front lines.

displays design features three areas in each exhibition room: a "lab" that allows visitors to deepen their scientific learning through communication with staff, a "connecting spot" that provides information in collaboration with local people, businesses, and academic institutions, and a "kids' space" that fosters intergenerational interaction. These features help maintain displays displays that is "people-centered" and "continuously growing and changing."
