Miru On Cafe

This project involved a café to be installed on the first floor of Menicon's Head Office headquarters building. Aiming for a highly original café, our company was responsible for everything from café planning and business model development to store design, construction, and establishment of the operational system.
In addition to visually appealing deli gelato and aromatic coffee, the cafe area features a piano in the center where mini-concerts are held, and monitors showing movies that express the facility's concept, creating a space that can be enjoyed with all five senses.

As a space that would contribute to Menicon's corporate branding, it needed to be a place where fun and joy could be experienced through all five senses, not just sight, and it needed to incorporate ideas related to SDGs and protecting the natural environment, and they asked us to create an operating structure that would make these a reality.

By placing a piano and large monitor stage in the center of the cafe area, and using different materials and concept design for each chair, we created a facility that engages all five senses—not just taste and smell from food and drink, but also hearing, sight, and touch—for a truly enjoyable experience. Furthermore, by making the piano and monitor available for events, it also functions as a place for communication with local residents. In addition, by using local ingredients in the cafe menu, we have realized a commitment to providing cuisine in collaboration with the local community, and we supported the selection of a business outsourcing partner, introducing several companies, including a nearby food and beverage operator.

By positioning "gelato," one of Miru On Cafe's strategic menu items, and "piano," one of the cafe's concepts, at the same line of sight from the entrance, the design was able to convey the cafe's message just by looking at it.
