overview

"Marunouchi Street Park" is a social experiment project to examine the future form and utilization of Tokyo's Marunouchi Nakadori. Launched in 2019, the ninth "Marunouchi Street Park 2024 Winter" was held, expanding from the previous three blocks of Marunouchi Nakadori to five blocks, including Gyoko-dori, making it the largest-scale project to date. Our company participated as the general planning partner and in charge of operations.

This time the theme is "Bright Street."
We were in charge of the spatial design, construction, and operation that made use of the illuminations that are a seasonal feature of winter in Marunouchi. We supported everything from planning to operation, including the ever-popular eco-friendly resin ice rink, the Glass House Market with its wide range of products, portrait content perfect for the holiday season, and street music.
(Event period: November 14th to December 25th, 2024)

Issues/requests

・We would like to prepare, process and sell food in a simple facility within the venue.
・We want to make the plan environmentally friendly.
- As a large number of people are expected to attend, safety precautions must be taken.

There were more requests than this.

solution

In order to hold the Christmas market, we applied to the local health center for permission to operate a short-term, fixed temporary business, and we set up a glasshouse where we could cook, process, and sell the produce.
In addition, this time we implemented a sustainable plan by keeping the production of new fixtures to a minimum and reusing fixtures that had already been produced.
In terms of social issues, based on last year's experience, we anticipated that the Christmas illuminations would attract large numbers of people every day, so we revised our operating plans to ensure safe and secure operations.
