[Project Summary]
"LUMINE SINGAPORE" is Lumine Inc.'s first overseas store.
A concept store that conveys [TOKYO STYLE, CULTURE, DESIGN] from Lumine's unique perspective, targeting curious working women as its main customers.
The minimalist space, constructed using solid materials, creates a gallery-like atmosphere that highlights each and every one of the featured product items.
The store will also house Lumine's first cafe, the Lumine Cafe, which offers photogenic menu items that are also conscious of health and beauty, as well as a space that exudes femininity and style.
[Customer Issues]
Lumine operates its own apparel shop and cafe. As this is the first attempt by Lumine, we started with the biggest challenge of supporting the creation of the store from scratch.
The irregularly shaped 900m2 plot of land is made up of over 20 fashion brands, a cafe area, and a sublease area.
The project required zoning and traffic flow planning that would bring out the appeal of various MDs, individuality and harmony in the spatial concept design that would express the new Lumine brand, and an edgy space with a "TOKYO" theme that was unlike any other in Singapore. In terms of implementation, challenges arose in overseas construction, such as negotiations and adjustments between Lumine and the local building owner, tight schedule adjustments with continued delays in decision approvals, and the ordering of production to factories in other countries and checks.
[Solution]
By utilizing the irregularly shaped plots and gently varying each area, we created a space with spaciousness and movement.
Additionally, wooden eaves were installed along the boundaries of the lots to give a sense of unity to the store packed with all sorts of elements (MD), and to emphasize the launch of the new Lumine brand.
The materials used were mainly mortar, wood, and terrazzo, with an emphasis on texture and authenticity, creating a minimalist, edgy space. As the project progressed, we collaborated with an external designer in charge of VMD to add an artistic element, expressing a "Tokyo-ness" that exudes style and trends.
In terms of implementation, we were able to successfully open the store despite the tight schedule thanks to close collaboration with the Japanese team and the swift response from Nomura Singapore.
