overview

Set in Azabudai Hills, which is based on the concept of a "Modern Urban Village" with the two pillars of Green & Wellness, Mori Building and Keio University have teamed up to create a preventive medicine center for innovation aiming to realize the next generation of preventive medicine. This is a center project. The facility has been expanded and relocated from the same university hospital in Shinanomachi to two floors, the 5th and 6th floors of the Azabudai Hills Mori JP Tower. The 5th floor has a personalized dock where patients can customize the test menu according to their wishes. The 6th floor offers a newly established membership-based medical service called ``Preventive Medical Membership.'' AND was in charge of concept design of the common areas on the 5th and 6th floors, excluding the examination rooms.

Issues/requests

The preventive medical center, which will be established as a core facility for the Wellness collaboration, was required to be unique in its scale and expected customer base.
As a place that embodies Keio University's mission of ``realizing a prosperous and long-lived society in which all people can live healthy and vibrant lives,'' it is a place with a special and high-quality feel that is close to each individual, and where academic results can be achieved. In order to become a base of genuine innovation that can be implemented in society and present the future of preventive medicine, we needed to create a new type of preventive medical facility that has never existed before.

solution

We believe that a universal space that utilizes the natural power of materials is the perfect place to provide cutting-edge preventive medical care. Since ancient times, natural materials have created comfort and given people relaxation and peace of mind, but in modern times, especially for interiors materials in medical facilities, it is difficult to use natural materials from the viewpoints of hygiene, flammability, durability, and cost. It's getting difficult. However, the current approach to the facility is that visitors are patients, not patients, and the doctor and patient will build a flat relationship, so that they can return home with a sense of security, and it will also relieve the tension of the patient and provide a natural environment. Because the purpose of this space is to create a space that stimulates communication, we went back to our roots and looked at natural materials such as natural stone, solid wood, and Japanese paper to create a space that feels like an urban resort even though it is a building in the city center. We aimed for a universal and high-quality space.

Customer's voice

It has been very well received by our patients, who say, ``It doesn't feel like a hospital or clinic, so it's nice.''
