overview

With the aim of strengthening the competitiveness of the office area of JR Central Towers, which is directly connected to Nagoya Station, we renovated the lobby and installed a lounge.
The lobby has been renovated into a space that stands out as the face of the office area, and the lounge on the 34th floor has been redesigned under the concept of "Towers Maison Lounge," creating a space where office workers can relax while taking advantage of the views that can only be enjoyed from high floors.

Issues/requests

Previously, office lobbies were open spaces where the general public could eat and drink, and were also used as lodging spaces, resulting in a cluttered environment where office workers and general customers were mixed together.
Improvements were needed to address the way the space was being used, resulting from such disorganized loitering.
Regarding the lounge, the client requested that it be created as a space that would be more appealing than the lounge areas in the surrounding buildings and serve as a place of relaxation for office workers.

solution

The lobby space is divided by glass partitions, with waiting benches for office workers installed inside the lobby and a waiting area for general users installed outside the lobby. The glass partitions also adjust the line of sight and create lighting effects to avoid creating a feeling of oppression in the space.
The lounge's layout and motif take advantage of the building's cylindrical shape, a symbol of Nagoya Station, and the use of wood and stone as materials creates a sense of elegance and dignity, creating a space in which office workers can feel a sense of pride and abundance.
