2025 World Expo Osaka Healthcare Pavilion Nest for Reborn "iPS Cells for the Future"

Located inside the Osaka Healthcare Pavilion at the 2025 World Exposition, Osaka, Kansai, Japan (Osaka-Kansai Expo), this is a space where you can get a close-up look at actual myocardial sheets made from iPS cells.
The symbolic sculpture was created with the motif of a tree growing from the seed of iPS cells into a large tree, representing the progress of research and development around the world since the discovery of iPS cells and the development of science and technology.
Within the "tree" is a giant model of the heart that moves in time with the beating of the myocardial sheet on displays. The sound of the heart reverberates loudly in the atrium, and video effects express a future in which people can live healthy lives thanks to advances in regenerative medicine.

We were required to address the issue of increasing children's interest in science, which would lead to the development of the next generation of researchers and engineers.
At the Osaka-Kansai Expo, which will be attended by many visitors, we aimed to raise interest in science by displays myocardial sheets made from iPS cells, which are rarely seen by anyone other than researchers and medical professionals.

displays use models and images that are easy for children to understand, and aim to convey hopes for the future of medical care and the importance of life.
