ESCONFIELD HOKKAIDO HOTEL KITAHIROSHIMA EKIMAE

The hotel is directly connected to Kitahiroshima Station on the JR Chitose Line, the closest station to Hokkaido Ballpark F Village. The first to third floors are commercial facilities, and the fourth to thirteenth floors are the hotel with a total of 158 guest rooms. We were primarily in charge of concept design and construction of the hotel lobby and the guest room floor on the 11th floor, which has a Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters theme.

The lobby space is filled with baseball-themed design, and the ceiling features an image of the Fighters' home stadium, "ESCON FIELD HOKKAIDO," and the Fighters colors are used to create an exciting space. The Fighters floor has a corridor that serves as a gallery space, displays autographed uniforms and photos of players, and the guest rooms are chicly coordinated in black to evoke the image of ESCON FIELD, and you can see the stadium from the windows.

ES-CON Japan, in collaboration with Kitahiroshima City and RIA, is working on the "Memory Inheritance Furniture Project," in which trees cut down during the construction of a hotel in the park in front of Kitahiroshima Station are reused to create furniture for use within the hotel. As part of this project, they commissioned students from Hokkaido Shirakaba Special Needs School in Kitahiroshima City to create furniture, and we were asked to design supervision of the furniture.

We created an image of the furniture, and the students selected the wood species and created the furniture from cutting to finishing as part of their classes. We communicated closely with the students during the process, and shared the difficulties of making better furniture and the joy of completing the piece. The furniture we made is set up in the hotel's community lounge, which is open to the public.
