This is a renovation plan for guest rooms, a bar, and a façade of a ryokan located in the western part of the Izu Peninsula in Shizuoka Prefecture. It has been reopened as "Atara Night Nishiizu", which is derived from the Manyoshu poem "A wonderful night that is regrettable to end".
In terms of guest rooms, we have five suites and one concept room for groups and families. On the first floor, we were in charge of the bar renovation, facade design, and live kitchen.
There are many local inns that were built during the high economic growth period and the bubble period, and it is becoming difficult to maintain the value at the time of opening due to aging. Although our inn boasts a history of 55 years, it also had the problem of aging. Also, although you can see the sea, it is not facing the sea, so it was difficult to appeal to customers to differentiate themselves from surrounding accommodation facilities based on the scenery alone.
We set up an "inside view" inside the ryokan and tried a method to create added value inside the building without relying on the outside view.
The guest rooms are “Yu-kei”, the bar is “Scene”, and the façade is “Ryu-kei”.
One of the guest rooms was planned as a concept room for groups and families, creating a photogenic scenery where you can take pictures that look good on SNS.
Great space improved ADR (average price per room).
