"SCRAPTURE" to be displays at "Green Creative™ Innovations" in Bangkok, Thailand, and talk session to be held at SIAM Takashimaya from August 21st

NOMURA Co.,Ltd. will be exhibiting "SCRAPTURE" at the "GreenCreative™ Innovations" event, sponsored by SIAM Takashimaya, located in Thailand's largest complex, from Wednesday, August 21 to Monday, September 2, 2024. displays Co., Ltd. is also collaborating on the spatial concept design of this event.
 

The purpose of this event is to raise awareness of the potential of sustainable materials and 3D printing. At the venue, there will be sales, actual machine demonstrations, and workshops for the "TATAMI ReFAB PROJECT" (HONOKA LAB Co., Ltd.), which uses the pellet-type 3D printer "REX-Series BUTLER fabrication" to create new and attractive furniture from "rush grass" discarded during the tatami mat production process and biodegradable resin.

NOMURA Co.,Ltd. is exploring the possibilities of sustainable concept design in space through its R&D activities. In support of the purpose of this event, we will be holding a traveling displays of "SCRAPTURE." This time, we will be displays encapsulated rush grass and other materials that were scheduled to be discarded.

A talk session will be held at the opening ceremony on August 22nd, and Yoshihisa Goto, Director of the Sustainable concept design Lab at our Future Creation Research Institute, will be taking the stage along with the organizers and cooperating companies.

■ SCRAPTURE (SCRAP MATERIAL UPCYCLE PROJECT) / NOMURA Co.,Ltd. Co., Ltd.
This product was created as a practical and sustainable message art piece that brings interiors waste, which is usually not visible, closer to people and appeals to emotions and memories. Unlike the traditional scrap-and-build approach to message delivery, this piece will be upcycled as new interiors materials for the next generation and circulated as a medium to expand the circle of co-creation. The piece will be displays in traveling locations such as offices, international conferences, and art events, with the aim of inspiring many people to think about a better future. It has received numerous awards, including the Sky Design Awards 2023 Gold Award (Multimedia & Visual Included Exhibition category) and the 57th Japan Sign concept design Award Gold Award and Tezuka Yui Award.
