About NOMURA Co.,Ltd. Social Good R&D "Hand concept design"

To pass on the long relationship between the forest and people to the next generation through daily work.
NOMURA Co.,Ltd. Ltd. Group is committed to sustainable concept design as part of its social good R&D activities. "Hand concept design" is one such activity, and with the aim of "realizing a business that balances the creation of rich spaces with the creation of forests for the future," we are working with producers to develop concept design that make the most of the value of wood.
The content of our presentation at this event was born from collaborations between our creators and the forestry and timber industry and local people in Hannō City, Saitama Prefecture, one of our partner production areas. The introduction area focuses on discarded wood scraps and other materials, attempting to elevate them into an installation. The panel exhibition will displays prototypes created by our creators. In addition, designers will discuss our "hand concept design" initiatives and the evolution of our creative process at the symposium.
