ZOZOBASE Tsukuba 3 Rest Room | Upcycled discarded materials art space

NOMURA Co.,Ltd. Ltd. was responsible for the planning, design, layout, interior execution of the rest area at "ZOZOBASE Tsukuba 3," ZOZO Co., Ltd.'s newest and largest logistics base, which began full operation on November 1, 2023.
Based on the concept of "making the staff WAKUWAKU", we concept design a break room where you can have fun, be healed, and be motivated. By promoting automation through the introduction of the latest equipment for the first time in Japan, we expect to save about 30% of labor and introduce 100% electricity derived from renewable energy, making extensive use of sustainable and unique materials befitting an environmentally friendly facility. In addition, by incorporating art works that have been upcycled from ZOZOUSED's discarded products, we accelerate the "WAKUWAKU" feel.

"I'm a heavy user of ZOZOTOWN myself, and I started designing this space with the hope that by expressing the 'excitement' I feel from purchasing a concept design until it arrives, I could also make employees feel excited during their breaks. Because the logistics centers where employees work are areas with a lot of inorganic materials due to their function, I tried to incorporate as many organic materials and handcrafted elements as possible in the break room so that employees can change their mood and refresh themselves. ZOZO, the artists and craftsmen who cooperated with us this time were all very warm and welcoming, and this break room was created as a result of everyone having fun, so I hope that people will use it with excitement."
