NOMURA Co.,Ltd. 's Social Good Activities: The Case of "Yao Daiichi Shokudo Isshoku" at Sharp's Yao Plant

NOMURA Co.,Ltd. Co., Ltd. was responsible for the planning, design, layout, and construction of "Yao Daiichi Shokudo Isshoku," an employee cafeteria that opened on November 1, 2021, at Sharp Corporation's (hereinafter: Sharp) Yao Plant.
Planned as the "Reborn Cafeteria" project for the Yao Plant, which has a history of approximately 65 years as a production base for white goods, we were awarded the contract as a partner to turn "ideas" into "reality" after submitting our proposal in a competition.

 

The location of the employee cafeteria "Yao Daiichi Shokudo Isshoku" was originally an air conditioner production line.
In this "Reborn Cafeteria" project, we aimed to create concept design that retains its distinctive features while also ensuring hygiene. By utilizing the mezzanine level, which was previously used for storing production products, as displays space for SHARP's iconic historical products, we were able to reduce waste and removal costs, aligning with the SDGs.
