NOMURA, Ltd.'s Social Good Activities: Sharp Yao Office "Yao Daiichi Shokudo Isshoku" Case Study

NOMURA was in charge of planning, design, layout and construction for the company cafeteria "Yao Daiichi Shokudo Isshoku," which opened on November 1, 2021, at the Yao Works of Sharp Corporation (hereinafter referred to as Sharp).
The project was planned as a "cafeteria REBORN" project for the Yao Works, which has spun out its history as a production base for white goods for about 65 years. After the competition, we received an order as a partner to give "shape" to the "idea".

 

The location of the employee cafeteria "Yao Daiichi Shokudo Isshoku" was originally an air conditioner production line.
For this “Dining Room REBORN” project, we thought of a concept design that would maintain the sanitation aspect while preserving its characteristics. By using the mezzanine floor, which was used to stock production products, as an displays space for successive products that symbolize SHARP, we were able to reduce waste and removal costs in line with the SDGs.
