About books

To commemorate this exhibition, "A Century of World Expositions 1851-1970" (author: Hashizume Shinya, editor: NOMURA, publisher: Seigensha) has also been published.

"While its form has changed with the times, the methodology of displays known as expositions has been passed down across centuries both at home and abroad. As long as society exists based on the nation, and as long as there is a demand for places that show models of life in the near future, the exposition as a 'device of civilization' will be passed down, regardless of whether it continues in the same form as before." (From "The Century of Expositions" by Hashizume Shinya)
